Summary

The American Colonies, 1775. A brave young warrior fights to save his homeland. But what begins as a struggle over territory turns into an extraordinary journey that will transform him into a Master Assassin—and will forever change the destiny of a nation. You are Connor, warrior son of a Native American mother and British father. As the colonies draw closer to revolution, you will dedicate your life to the freedom of your clan –becoming the spark that ignites the revolution into full blaze. Your crusade will take you through blood-soaked battlefields to crowded city streets, to perilous wilderness and beyond. You will not only witness history—you will make it. Welcome to an entirely new chapter in the Assassin’s Creed saga.

I think this was the best Assassin's Creed games I ever played.

• The story was so good written that hooked me up to actually finish it, and I never thought Ubisoft would ever make such a beautiful game.
• The combat system was incredible ! It was soooo good and satisfying killing your enemies and going into fights.
• But the parkour was so annoying, plus most of the time you were not even in charge of the direction where you going. Like I was running to a mission running on ground it was so annoying because as soon as it gets near of something like a rock or a tree or whatever grab-able it went straight to it like calm down mf no need to do all these parkour and shi.
• Apart from the parkour system I loved every single moment of it playing it. Well done Ubisoft for creating this masterpiece.

Assassin's creed 3 as a game does alot of thing right while missing the mark on few others. The story is well written though it takes a while to really get going and I also appreciate them going for a different type of protagonist in Connor since Ezio is hard act to follow. His relationship with his father Haytham is well written and all the scenes the two shared were a highlight of the story. I wished they had more interaction throughout story.

The gameplay has seen some changes from previous games. The combat and parkour has been simplified, maybe a bit too simple but that's down to my personal preference. As long these games have the kill chain mechanic the combat is always remains fun for me. Tree climbing is also welcome addition.

The series is well known for its well realised depictions of locations throughout history with no exception here. New York and Boston as good as they are however prove to not be as great of a location for parkour as previous games. This is due to buildings being too far apart and the cities consisting of alot of open areas with nowhere to climb. Not to mention the roofs are filled with guards.

The side content is where this game shines alot. There are tons of things to do with the highlight being the homestead missions which sees you forming your own community that grows as the game goes on. In a way similar to AC 2 where your town becomes more alive as you invest in it only more fleshed out and with characters that you get to know as the missions go on. Aside from that you have enemy forts, hunting, crafting, assassin recruits and various other activites. Naval missions are another addition that's fun to engage in and it was good call on their part to flesh this aspect further and make it the main focus for Black Flag.

The biggest problem with the game for me however is the ending. Even after all these years I believe this ending was one of the biggest blunders in the series that squandered alot of storytelling potential. Some of the interesting possibilities that the ending did provide were resolved in the pages of a comic book that most people don't even know exists. The overarching modern day storyline lost all interest for me after this game. The game also lacks a bit of polish and would've benefitted from more time in development if they had taken a break after revelations.

Despite the ending leaving a sour taste the game is entertaining and does alot of things right that make it worth playing.

If you played the last 5 games, you can see that fatique has start to kick in,and series needed an ending at this point. This game was good for the most part, but there were things I didn't enjoy too.First,Desmond modern day story was the best one in any AC game no doubt.Playing as him after so many times spent in animus felt great,he really looked like he evolved from first entry.Invading Abstergo and finally killing Vidic was one of the best moments in the franchise.Ending not so much.Killing him off was a mistake. They could have done so much with that character, but yeah, blame Lucy's voice actor for all the changes they had to make in AC.Connor and american revolution at first I was ok with, but in the same time I don't see a connection between him Altair and Ezio.Story was good, not perfect but good enough.Combat was insane, because you are basically a killing machine, new variety of weapons, tomahawk was the best.Controls are same since the first entry, attack, defend, parry and counter.Adding the option to have your own ship was a nice addition, map was interesting, although it can be quite large and chore to go through.Missions are pretty good and creative in terms of stealth and combat.Homestead missions were fun side activity when not doing main ones.Characters are amazing, all of them did a great job, soundtrack was memorable for the most part.I would say this is when AC franchise started to go downhill, even though they tried to live up to the first 5 games,it shows fatique and it can be a chore to get through the game.Sometimes developers really need to press a break when making sequels, yes you're gonna milk the money of it,but also you can see that quality is also declining too.Overall a good game with some flaws and I really do wish that Ubisoft at least tried to make AC games different from one another instead of making it the same 3rd person open world games, that's why the quality declined with these games, because they all look the same, but I quess I'm in minority that thinks that way

"As a child, I really enjoyed the game, but as I grew up, I feel like I don't like the game as much as when I was 12. Most of the missions are incredibly tedious, and the story with Connor didn't grab me at all like it did at the beginning with Haytham."

I loved this game as a kid and I still love the history aspect of it. That’s the only reason it gets a 3. It’s achievements and how annoying it is to play bring it down so much.
