Summary

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag begins in 1715, when pirates established a lawless republic in the Caribbean and ruled the land and seas. These outlaws paralyzed navies, halted international trade, and plundered vast fortunes. They threatened the power structures that ruled Europe, inspired the imaginations of millions, and left a legacy that still endures.

Too boring and long to continue playing

Played on: Playstation 5
Version: Playstation 4
Edition: Standard physical

I tried to start this one up because I haven't played it since 2014 & I remember it being good. Repetitive, but good. I maybe made it 2 hours? Sure. Anyways, the game runs HORRIBLE. Even on my Playstation 5. The FPS is ass, the game looks ghastly, & I just couldn't care enough to go on for its mediocre & recycled AC story.

Final verdict: Don't touch it

Alright this one is gonna get me a lot of hate, but my reviews are honest and how I felt playing the game.Every time I play this game,I can't look at it as AC.Pirates of Carribean-like game,it's the first one I would recommend to someone else, but to me it doesn't feel like I'm playing AC game. Most of the time you spent on sea, doing ship battles, upgrading your crew, ship, and your own character.Missions were interesting, but got old very quickly because every 2nd or 3rd mission got Tailing somebody.I don't mind tailing missions, but there were to many of them.Carribeans map looks atmospheric, pretty much how I imagine my vacation,so many greens, palmas etc.Taking over forts was ok at first, but kinda repetitive after a while.I do believe they have done a better job at Rouge.Edward story was fine for the most part, but it was hard for me to take it seriously, when 85% of story is about pirates, and 15% was about assasins and templars.Characters were not that memorable for me,gameplay didn't really change from the past AC games.Biggest complain for me has to be modern day story. You play as some random mute Abstergo employee, doing pretty much nothing interesting, picking up documents and hacking stuff. Those parts to me were so boring. That's why I hate Desmond's death so much, because instead of introducing a new character with personality, they decided to do something so random, where the protagonist was forgetable for the most part.It felt like a waste of time. Now back to the gameplay. In terms of stealth gameplay,it was ok,but I never felt like Edward was a stealthy type of guy,I always thought of him as a combat guy.Controls were fine for the most part, and map design was beautiful. There are plenty of things to explore, you can even harpoon animals for hide and upgrades for your weapons and robes l also don't like the length of this game.It feels like it drags on forever,if I'm not mistaken I think to that point it is the longest AC game. For me I would even say this is the most overrated AC game that exists, yeah the graphics are beautiful, but again it didn't felt like AC to me.It felt like I was playing Pirates of the Carribean the prequel or something.I don't know man, might be the only one with this mindset, played the game twice, both felt like a chore to complete.
