Summary

Assassin's Creed Rogue is a 2014 action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Sofia and published by Ubisoft. It is the seventh major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, and is set between 2012's Assassin's Creed III and 2013's Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. It also has ties to Assassin's Creed Unity, which was released on the same day as Rogue. It is the last Assassin's Creed game to be developed for the seventh generation of consoles, being released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November 2014 and for Windows in March 2015.

My second favorite AC game, and quite underrated if you ask me.So many people don't care about this game, saying stuff like "it's black flag 2.0,black flag DLC" and all the nonsense.Sure the game has same mechanics and gameplay as BF,but IMO Rogue is everything BF should have been.Story finally changed from your typical "assasins good, templars evil".It wasn't even about templars being the good guys,it's just seeing things from their perspective. It's much deeper than you think. All the talks about if freedom should be limited, allowing youself to do anything brings to chaos, some dialogue really questions everthing I was doing until playing Rogue.Gameplay and story were short, but to be honest not every game needs to be 20+hours to be enjoyable.Sure you can beat the main story in 7 hours, but side activities sure got you occupied if you are interested in them.Unlike BF,I actually cared about upgrading the ship,in this one it's Morrigan, all the upgrades look awesome, and when you upgrade it to maximum level,it looks badass.I even went as far as beating all the forts, all legendary ship battles, all the coats and robes Shay wears, weapons, most of the collectibles, and all of them look awesome.Missions were pretty good, exploring the map, different variety of weapons, warehouses, strategies you can do is limitless. You can even be attacked by assassin which triggers Shay's sense when it's nearby.Shay was a fantastic protagonist, close second to Ezio for me.Characters are really good, both in terms of design and voice acting, ost was great to listen,my favorite is Boy becomes the man.Somehow this game is more fun to play during winter, probably because of exploring North Atlantic.Sadly this is the last AC game I truly enjoyed(outside Chronicles China spinoff),haven't enjoyed AC game since, looking back I wish I stopped here. This game is underapriciated,if I had to give the reasons what I didn't like,it's probably modern day story.Again you play as some another Abstergo employee, but at least they give you something interesting like Otso Berg character, which was ruined in Odyssey. It's a hidden gem of a game, worth checking out

Same old, same old. Autopilot gameplay that never does what you want. It's like driving a Tesla that always tries to run over cyclists. At some point you'd end up in jail and this game is the equivalent of that: boring.

A boring, uninventive, copy/ paste drivel with gameplay that is just about good enough for a functioning game. Not good enough to sustain a couple hours of a "AAA" game, let alone 20 hours or however long these games run for. Too long.

Lesson learned: when simpletons say that a Ubisoft game is underrated, you should still avoid it.

It's crazy how a game like Ghost of Tsushima made a better Assassin's Creed game on their first try than Ubisoft has in god knows how many tries.

i liked this more than black flag even if it's shorter
the story is good it takes a different turn from all the other games, shay is really an interesting character he is not perfect but his motives are understandable. I really liked all the connections to other games... here we have haytham, adewale, achilles, connor, even arno and more. good storytelling, it connected a lot of dots in a satisfying way for me. the downside is always the gameplay very similar to bf, i am biased because I don't like ship battles and you have to upgrade it to do main quests. like the previous one it doesn't make me want to do side content. i have to say shay has more cool moves and weapons whichi i liked. the present part was interesting nothing special, tho I have to say that puzzles were better in black flag here we have only one confusing type.

The story is really cool but super short and the gameplay was unique to its "protagonist"

Underrated game but it was fun and it had a good story, just needed to try different things because the gameplay loop was way too similar to AC4
