Summary

Paris, 1789. The French Revolution turns a once-magnificent city into a place of terror and chaos. Its cobblestoned streets run red with the blood of commoners who dare to rise up against an oppressive aristocracy. Yet as the nation tears itself apart, a young man named Arno will embark upon an extraordinary journey to expose the true powers behind the Revolution. His pursuit will throw him into the middle of a ruthless struggle for the fate of a nation, and transform him into a true Master Assassin.

Damn so many mixed feelings about this one.The game takes place right after epilogue of Rouge. This time you play as Arno, french assassin during a French Revolution.Story was a mixed bag for me,characters were fine for the most part, but gameplay is where this game shines. In terms of stealth, missions are some of the best in AC franchise. There are multiple ways you can approach the targets. There are some puzzles to solve,a lot of attires to unlock from previous protagonists. There is a level up system and rpg elements in how you build Arno's character, which leads me to something I hate in video games in general...micro transactions. They expect you to buy stuff to boost your character, which is something I decided not to do,managed to beat the game without using those.Again modern day story sucks, again you as mute protagonist that adds nothing to the story.Parkour was awesome in this game,it looks smooth. The game was horrible at time of release, with numerous bugs and glitches.I personally think it's a good game, but type of game you beat once and never touch again,it doesn't have a replay value,at least not for me

The buggiest AC, it feels like a beta test or even worse. Ai is so dumb, you can't even lure them with a firecrackers to the ambush, npc can stuck in walls or fly, story npc can glitch ruining the whole mission, random events with npc ruin story missions causing chaos, like it's GTA3 or something. You can't complete challenges because enemies are too dumb to trigger stealth kills. They can see you when you are above them or behind without any reason instantly raising alarm. Equips do nothing, only stats increasing works, raw stealth/survivability equips stats don't affect anything. You can be easily killed or discovered even with the most expensive end game equips! Design sucks, there are few descent clothes, but they have low stats, weapons are awful. Combat IS THE WORST, it's worse than 1st AC, like playing a mobile game: basic attack, party and roll, no double finishers, no grabs, you just parry all the time, because it doesn't show when off screen mob is about to hit you. Stealth is practically unnecessary, because no penalties and actually faster to kill everyone with op sword, than suffer with this "beta test" stealth system. Everything is so clumsy, so not accurate, so glitchy. And you can break your game in various ways! 1. By doing DLC because it's available almost at the beginning. 2. By spending skill points not on pick locking - you get fixed amount of skill point only from story missions and if you won't buy pick locking lvl 2 before chapter 6 - you won't be able to unlock a story mission door, so won't progress, because can't refund or reset, only start game from the beginning. So my advice: do only story missions 1st, sense they are the only source of unlockables and upgrades. The only positive is story and environment, but who cares if game is almost broken and gameplay is absent.
