This is my first and probably only uncharted game because we as a species are incapable of emulating the PS3, no matter what the tech bros tell you. Under most circumstances a story this happy and epic is not up my ally, but what really carries the narrative are each individuals acting performances. The writing isn't quite as realistic as TLOU1, but it's not to the games detriment because it's not trying to be a deconstruction of the human species it's just a tale of treasure hunting. I grew up with uncharted, however, through let's plays because I am a pure blooded gamer, even without the game, and I lowkey cried from joy multiple times. It's just, ughhh, so fucking beautiful I can't explain it. I haven't had this big of a smile on my face from fiction in a very long time the game is so joyful. A quick side note on the graphics, they are very good. Better than tlou remaster because the scenery is so much more grand. Setting is constantly changing and I can't imagine the amount of time that needs to go into hand crafting all the textures, animations, and physics across an 11 hour game this solid in pacing. There are very few games this good from a cinematic standpoint, and the ones that are this high like death stranding or mgsv rival the majority of movies from an entertainment perspective due to being games. On that note, the game is also very funnn. Grappling hook is so smooth, and the pick thing too, but they're lowkey so fun they feel under used. The shooting was a weird transition from tlou where you can't miss a single shot to just go fucking crazy. Idk how to explain in words how good it feels to play, you just gotta trust me.
