Ohhhh, Ubisoft..... You've done it again. You've gotten me to spend hours minutes seconds on another video game. The game? Assassin's Creed Origins. I need to give credit where it's due, this game is gorgeous.... breathtaking, honestly. The water effects, the color of sunrises/sunsets, it all just adds to the complete immersion of the game in those moments when you are exploring or out causing chaos in some towns. That part Ubisoft nails I would say fairly consistently. There is A LOT here, and I will repeat that several times. What I mean in this instance is that it is a big world, and they somehow managed to fill it out with interesting things. It's a game set in Egypt, and it would have been fairly easy for the developers to just give us sand. But even the deserts have detail in them, things you can miss, predators, bandits waiting to jump you, etc. I appreciate that. The storyline, there's not a whole lot there, but what little bit of story that is woven into the game is good! It's compelling, the voice acting was decent, and it's got everything you need for a good AC story. Love. Revenge. Family. Betrayal. Poorly timed jokes. Bayek, the main character, is the strong & brooding type. With a big ol soft spot the size of the Nile, especially when it comes to children or parents. His wife, Aya of Alexandria, is a bad ass. Together their forces combined make the weirdest #relationships goals I've ever muttered to myself. I, for one, would much rather read about Aya and Bayek than Travis Kelce and TSwift. But I digress, their story begins and ends before you really even know it. Some flaws.... The loot is seldom ever worth it, and the same goes for treasure chests. Aside from hijacking supply runs you can never seem to gather enough crafting materials, which is a bummer. It's the same rinse and repeat as Odyssey, and I'm assuming Valhalla. It does have me very eager to jump into Mirage though, as that is next on my list. The change of pace, and a chance to go back to the roots, what got me hooked waaaay back in 2007. Truth is, I will probably play everything they put in this series. I would give this one a 7/10, reason for the 7 is that I would have preferred a longer story, and less fluff. There is a significant amount here to do a replay, especially considering there is a new game plus mode, so once is enough for me.

Long ass game. But it goes hard as hell though. Exploring the pyramids and climbing them. Crazy gameplay.

Lots to do to get 100%, story gets a bit dry towards the end, but the stealth aspect is very fun.
