Summary

The Talos Principle is a philosophical first-person puzzle game from Croteam, the creators of the legendary Serious Sam series, written by Tom Jubert (FTL, The Swapper) and Jonas Kyratzes (The Sea Will Claim Everything).

No words are enough to describe this philosophical and thoughtful experience. One of my favorite games ever.

One of the best puzzle games ever made. More than just a game with "puzzles" this game gives a deep meaning, and message behind your actions, in a journey to understand what means to be "human" and what means to be "alive".

One of the best games I have played. It is a fair competitor to the Portal series, but had less humor and story, but more interesting ideas and better looking graphics.

The puzzles in this game were incredible. You somewhat quickly unlock all the devices to use in the game, but each stage utilizes those devices in super unique ways. Every puzzle felt fresh and kept me interested the entire time. The game also gives you a lot of freedom on how you play through it, allowing you to hop in and out of levels and take things at your own pace. I think a lot of these kind of 3D-puzzle-platformer games should take some notes from this one.

The story was great, it makes you think about what it means to truly be "alive". And while I found great sentiment in the games narrative, the ending didn't really feel like it tied any of this up or gave you a conclusion, which was a bit disappointing... BUT that may be exactly the point because they recently announced the sequel!

After leaving off with a cliff hanger ending and more questions than answers, I'm super excited to play the next game!
