Fight through a world destroyed by Dr. Eggman and a powerful new villain in Sonic Forces, the new fast-paced action platformer from the team that brought you Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations. Sonic Forces lets you speed through rolling ruined landscapes as Modern Sonic, catapult past perilous platforms as Classic Sonic, and use powerful new gadgets as your own Custom Hero Character.
The game follows Sonic the Hedgehog as a member of a resistance force against Doctor Eggman, who has taken over the world with the help of his robot army and a mysterious new villain known as Infinite. Gameplay is similar to Sonic Generations with players controlling "Classic" and "Modern" versions of the titular character; the former plays from a 2.5D side-scrolling view reminiscent of the original Sonic games on the Sega Genesis, while the latter uses three-dimensional gameplay similar to Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors. In addition to the two Sonics, Sonic Forces also introduces a third gameplay mode featuring the "Avatar", the player's own custom character.

First of all this was my first ever sonic game and...I never knew the games are like this :D
Where to start...well...the story, I guess...This would be a great story for something like Call of Duty but not for this game really...it's just like they slapped three completely different ideas together and this terrible thing came out. At one point the bad guys do a big bad thing and it seems that Sonic is going to be in trouble...oh my it lasts for probably 3 seconds when you are supposed to play but you just run in straight line and that's it (devs were apparently aware that's stupid so they even make Sonic ansver question "What happened?"With truthful: "Nothing"...which sums up the whole game to be honest :D)
Another thing that bothers me were the boss fights. They were fun for the first minute but then they were just bad oh so bad...I always complain about the rule of three - three hits and boss is down. Oh how I wish there was a rule of three....you need to hit the boss multiple times (and by multilne I mean at least 6!!!!! times! wtf????). Then there is speacial place for second phase of the final boss...that boss isn't about skill or strategy or whatever...it's about patience - patience to wait to that one time he WON't throw you right into the hole/laser after your attack...
I really enjoyed the graphical side of the game tho. Sadly I feel like the devs cared only about that and forgot that good game actually needs a good gameplay.
Good idea was also unlocking of cosmetics after each level/finishing tasks. That was fun even though the cosmetics after a while looked identical :D
The best about the whole game though was the soundtrack, super pumped, super fun.
Just do yourself a favor and don't play this game...the ratings know why they're so low...
