Summary
The world is in ruins. Only a remnant of mankind remains, hunted to near extinction by horrors from another world. As one of the few survivors left, you will venture into portals to fantastic realms to gather the resources and firepower needed to fight back and retake what was lost.
Remnant: From the Ashes is a third-person survival-action game set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by mythical creatures. The game provides players and up to three of their friends with a unique, customizable gameplay experience filled with intense shooting and melee combat, gear and weapon crafting, character progression and dynamically-generated levels that offer an infinite number of ways to explore and take on deadly monsters and epic bosses.

Great shooting mechanics combined with a movement system similar to Souls-like games.
The campaign is not long, but it's procedural nature makes it very replayble. A single playthrough is not enough to see all the bosses and side missions the game has to offer.
Weapon balancin is frustraring. Most boss weapons feel underwhelming compared to the default starter guns, unless they come with a super powerful ability that makes them worth upgrading. But these are only a small fraction of the entire game's arsenal.
The RNG nature of the game also makes it frustrating and extremely time consuming to farm for a specific weapon.
With all that said, Remnant is still a fun and challenging game that will keep you hooked for multiple playthroughs while still feeling fresh for about 15 to 20ish hours.

pretty neat, fun alone and with friends but definitely gets grating with other people
you start to get why multiplayer dark souls hasn't happened because you'd get pissed when your friends fuck up

If you squint through the story you'll find a great co-op game with fun build crafting and excellent gunplay.

Guns in souls games have been thought of but to execute is another story, the gun play in remnant is fun and very well done which kept me playing it. However I'm not a fan of random level design especially when the levels are so bland, the story was decent enough but I would have liked more late game weapons to be more viable, will see what the dlc holds.
9\10 gameplay, 5\10 level design, 6\10 story

Solid boss fights, and enemy design, your guns feel good, and is just overall a solid game.

like a coop dark souls with guns and procedurally generated levels. pretty cool but gets old after a while.
