Great out of ten. Much better than the first. More bombastic. More awesome set pieces. Much better story, and more reasons to be invested in the characters. This one far surpasses the first one. Lots of collectables, extending the gameplay which is nice. I had a lot of fun with this one, and I am eager to jump into the third and final installment.

I sort of hate this game because I have so many issues with it yet it's still an amazing game. It's basically a better version of the first game, which I also gave a 9, but this game is also a 9 because it just had so much more potential to be a perfect 10. To start, the good. The games visuals are amazing. For this being an early ps4 game, it looks like an end of cycle ps4 game. The gameplay is as smooth, if not smoother than the first one. The gunplay I'd say is on par, but the traversal is even better. That's saying a lot especially because for me the exploring and platforming made the first game for me, and this game managed to top that. The new tools here make it that much slicker. The only issue I have is the pacing of which the upgrades are presented, because if you do the side stuff before the story, you don't play as much with the improved traversal plus you get stuck for certain collectibles until you progress the story. Speaking of the story, it's actually really good here, it's an improvement from the first game, even though I think the first game still had a really solid story. But this one exceeds it because it really manages to subdue your predictions of what you think is going to happen. Now for what pisses me off so greatly. Firstly, it is way too bloated. There are just way to many collectibles here, and to make matters worse, the level design, although it shines in certain areas, its overall worse in this game. They went for a more vertical approach which works in certain cases, but mostly makes it a pain for completionists. Like I mentioned before, the pacing is also not great. For a game with so much stuff to do, it's not spaced out well. If the side content was cut a bit, and improvements were made in the design, even something as simple as the map ui to better help keep track of what's missing, it would be a 10/10. Basically, the game is phenomenal, but some poor decisions made by square Enix completely ruin quality of life which makes this such a pain and chore at times. Sidenote, the Blood ties dlc is phenomenal. It's basically a mini detective/exploration mission in the Croft mansion. Although it has around 100 collectibles alone, every single one is actually really cool, and adds so much to the backstory of Lara and the Croft's. I 100% recommend playing it, fully completing it and reading all the collectibles information

Well this is amazing for sure. I enjoyed every minute playing this, in the end it's tomb raider game after all. Love the environment, story , even side missions were fun to play. Lara was badass as always, love the choices that you can pick to show her dark side a little bit. In the end a great game...
