Halo 3: ODST

Halo 3:Walking simulator started off like a drag, but it grew on me, piece by piece. The music, the atmosphere, hell, the story kept me hooked, even when I was ready to bail. I kept pushing till I reach the end, And then I reached the ending, felt like a punch that never landed.

Still, I had a good time, even if the payoff didn’t match the ride.

Definitely lacks the gravitas the rest of the Halo franchise delivers, but still fun. I like the spooky vibe that permeates the game as you walk the streets of New Mombasa alone. You never know when you turn the next corner if you're in the clear, or you'll encounter 2 Hunters ready to send you to your last checkpoint. The story is....well it's there, take it or leave it. Coastal Highway is easily the best level, almost on par with most levels from the previous games. I will say the game feels very empty. When in the streets, you really have absolutely nothing to do but move to your next map marker, which gets pretty tedious around halfway through. If I'd played this game when I was younger, I definitely would have had a huge crush on Dare. Maybe I still kinda do...

Great game. Love the atmosphere and the soundtrack. ODSTs are badass.

I'm not sure why there are boring and tedious walking sections between the exciting levels but it was a fun game otherwise.

An underrated gem. The moodiest of all the Halo games.
