DS3 had the task of ending the Dark Souls series. This series is one of the most influential gaming experiences of all time. So to say DS3 had a difficult task is an understatement. But I think it pulled it off.

DS3 takes all the lessons learned from its previous entries and utilises an upgraded combat engine from Bloodborne. This combination creates on of the most complete From Software experiences you can buy.

As you play DS3 you feel the existential dread as you explore the fading world that has been masterfully crafted by the devs. You get to experience Dark Souls history as you revisit old locations from the original Dark Souls and find weapons and armour from both of the previous games.

However despite the staggering amount of callbacks, DS3 has plenty of original content for you to experience. I’d argue it’s some of the best in the series.

Bosses such as Dark Eater Midir, Soul of Cinder and of course Slave Knight Gael are some of the best bosses From Software have ever produced. They take everything you’ve learned throughout the past three games and present to you your most difficult challenge.

After you beat them however there’s a sense of melancholy, it’s over. Once you’ve beat these bosses, there’s no more bosses in the Dark Souls series for you to face, the world of Dark Souls comes to a close.

I’m going to miss Dark Souls, many of us will. I’m glad this franchise was put to rest however as it lets From Software explore with different ideas in their future games.

There will be nothing like Dark Souls again. The series had it’s highs and it had it’s lows. It made gaming history and I’m glad it wasn’t dragged out, because what we had was truly special.

Dark Souls 3 is a wonderful experience that makes almost no mistakes. I would even say that it is a little underrated, being overshdowed by Bloodborne and now Elden Ring, but this is such a gem of game, i feel like i missed on a lot by playing it 8 years after release.

After thinking dark souls 2 was suprlisiling good inspite of a few flaws. I was really looking forward for dark souls 3 to iron out all the short comings of 2 and be the first souls-like I truly fell head over heels for. That Was not the case.

didn't complete it, I've played Bloodborne before this game and the gameplay is literally the same, and what's the point of farming souls so you could upgrade your character and end up losing? why do a lot of people think this type of games is fun? it's a complete trash, didn't finish it and never wanna play it again, and why are they adding a lore to the game if it's hidden?

Finally, I have finished the Dark Souls series. It took two games for FromSoftware to finally deliver a masterpiece. I have been eagerly waiting to play this game for so long, and it did not disappoint. I still can't believe that Soulslike has become my favorite genre. Ten years ago, I hated the genre and the Dark Souls games. I never thought I would even like the series but Dark Souls 2 and 3 made me.

This is what the original Dark Souls should've been, and the series should've continued from this game. I loved this game so much; it had me hooked from the beginning. The graphical leap was stunning and made the game even better, which was long overdue. The level design was amazing, except for Farron Keep, Catacombs of Carthus, and Irithyll Dungeon. Most importantly, it is the hardest one in the series and has the best bosses. They were challenging and enjoyable, and I loved their fighting design. Collecting weapons and armors and trying them out was also fun. And the soundtrack, the best in the series. I also loved the addition of ember, should've been implemented before but it's story related sadly; it also adds a cool effect to the armor along with the health boost.

The duration of the game was perfect for me; it was not too long like Dark Souls 2. They have reduced the brainless ganking, thankfully. This game was almost perfect for me: however, I loved the first half, but I kind of lost interest in the second half. Some bonfires are really close to each other and are not necessary. Also the bosses, I thought would be much much harder. It talke me 2-3 tries, I never used summons, for majority of the bosses except Curse-Rotten Grearwood, Aldrich, Old Demon King and Lothric. Out of all the bosses, the one that's touted the hardest, Nameless King, I beat him on my first try. I was shocked. I loved the design though and they were frustrating but fun. Bloodborne's bosses were much harder for me.

This is my third favorite FromSoft game and fourth in the genre; I thought it would beat Bloodborne, but Bloodborne was better for me. I can finally say that the Dark Souls series is not as hard as Sekiro and Bloodborne, with the former being the hardest game by FromSoftware. The series started horribly for me but ended with a bang.
