One of the most disappointing experiences ive ever had the displeasure of playing that was thankfully fixed due to scholar of the first sin. i mightve enjoyed it more if i would have explored more and experimented with the builds but this was not great

I've beaten the game a couple of times it was hella of a joying game but i hated the world of the game it was the worat world design i've ever seen before (except for majula & the dragon palace ig it's called) each area is filled to neck with horrendous enemies the lust for ur death they will jump at u at once and to get ahead of them either u lose too much time by luring them one by one or summon a phantom which is what the game wants u to do their are a lot of them but so lil human effigy i don't summon phantoms usually unless i want to explore but here is the catch the game doesn't understand that the bosses aren't the hard part but exploration. Enough of the cons the game has a lot of unique osts especially the majula one i love it 🔥 and the story of the world and how it's related to ds3/ds1 like a lot of ppl know that this land pf dragnliec was called something else but struggle to recall and to end this i like the game but hate it at the same time.

This game is definitely the worst of the trilogy, some annoyances were added just to make the experience more frustrating (like the overall health decreasing after each death) but still have some decent boss fights but not nearly as great as the 1st and 3rd games. The graphic sucks aswell.

Sorry guys I'm gonna say it. This. Game is way better than dark souls 1. Its way smoother, the level design (for the most part) is way more fair yet still changeling. The boss fights were heart pounding, the amount of sweat i poured while playing this game could fill an entire swimming pool. That being said... It's still got a bit of the tedium that dark souls 1 had in new more annoying ways. Losing a chunk of your health everytime you die is one of the worst missteps this game makes. Then on top of that you can't even grind for the items that restore your health because enimes stop respawning if you kill them enough times. These 2 mechaniques combined lead to a level of unsecasery stress which bogs down the better parts of the game to a degree. While there are a few other things I loved hated etc. I think I'll leave of by saying I'm pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this game.

Oooh this game. So I went into this game expecting the worst of the worst from what I've heard of this games infamy. Honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be. The bosses are super easy and easy to break other then the few that are so ungodly unfair and broken. The levels and design were pretty cool and the environments were somewhat interesting. Ending was kinda dumb. Super clunky in the beginning and I kinda hated it but it grew on me as I went further on. No where near as good as the other souls games but still decent enough to play. I need to go back and 100% eventually

Adding this about 4 months after the initial review. I did 100% the game and ooohh boy was it interesting. The grind for those sunlight medals was absolutely ehell. 8 is hours killing Roman solider dudes at a camp. Funnnn. And bc of the greatest idea of all time "soul memory" I couldn't be summoned by anyone as my level was too high. Meaning I could only get medal to upgrade the covenant by hoping the RNG gods would give them to me.

The dlcs were like a solid 5 or 6-10 at best. Sunken valley was ok but game squad boss fight was ridiculously stupid. The area and the dragon fight was pretty neat tho. Iron king was ok and I got all the statue thing destroyed but blue smelter demon like huhhh wtf were they thinking. Ivory king I loved and thought was a really fun and cool area to explore until frozen outskirts. That area and that horrible boss Is making me change my review from an 8 to a 7. The dlcs for the most part were ok but kinda mid. I think all of them had 1 fun cool boss (dragon, fume knight my beloved and ivory king) 1 mid ish boss and then 1 horseshit boss that made me wanna die (ice pet duo, blue smelter and gank squad.)

Other than the grind and wasting like all my human effigies on darkluker and the chasms, the 100% was ok. I don't think I'll be going back to dark souls 2 anytime soon lol. But I enjoyed it for what it was
