Summary

Xenoblade Chronicles X is an action role-playing video game and a part of the Xeno series of video games, serving as a spiritual successor to Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii. In a similar fashion to the original, the game plays as an open world role-playing video game, with an emphasis on exploration. Traveling can take place on foot, or in large humanoid robots, approximately four times the height of the average playable character, called "Skells" ("Dolls" in the Japanese version), that the player may opt to control. The Skells have the ability to fly, traverse water, and transform into vehicles such as motorcycles or tanks. Aerial battles will also take place in the game.

An absolutely underrated entry into the Xenoblade series. The environment design, exploration and combat are top tier and meld so nicely together. Unfortunately, X is let down but its story… or lack thereof and character cast/development. Also running on the Wii U… comes at the cost of performance issues.

The game got me into the franchise and I've been a fan ever since. Visuals still hold up and the gameplay and story is amazing

This is my 2nd favorite Xenoblade Chronicles game. The scifi world, skell mech combat and exploration are incredible. I wish I was into the series when this came out back in 2015 (I bought a used copy in 2021 and finished in 2022) but I love it.

I hope a follow up is made for the Switch 2. Also Sawano composing the music is so good, loved his work in anime from the mid-2010s up to now. Some of it is an acquired taste but overall this is actually super underrated game.

Play it, either on Wii U hardware or emulation.

A solid game definetly, but a bit fast and loose, and too much for the Wii U to handle
