YOU DON'T JUST PLAY IT... YOU LIVE IT He spins a web, swings across the sky and lands with a somersault onto the Daily Bugle building. Who is this masked hero? It's you! Fight, jump and web-sling as Spider-Man as you take on a legion of sinister villains. The city is depending on you. Start swinging...

Pretty impressive for an older game

Spiderman for the PS1/N64/DC is definitely a product of it's time.

More of a level based Spiderman game than a full on open world, which I really appreciate, does come with it's caveats.

All the charm and cheesiness of golden age 90s Spiderman is here. There is also a good inclusion of just general Marvel fanservice here, which honestly is even better here than Insomniac's game. You'll see and hear cameos and references galore, but don't feel forced and fit naturally in the world of Spiderman. You get a decent rogues gallery of Spiderman villains to fight here as well.

The advantage of level based missions is that the devs need to be more creative with how they design their levels. You've got a bank level where you need to rescue hostages, a subway level on top of a train etc. It's stuff you normally wouldn't see in an open world spiderman game, which gives it it's own uniqueness.

The story is fine. It's another typical story you'd expect from a 90s Spiderman game.

The gameplay is really janky and it doesn't help that combat isn't fun due to the mechanics of the game itself not feeling polished. There are some really frustrating moments in the game, not because of the design but how the game plays.

I'd say though if you're still a fan of 90s Spidey, it's worth trying out for the charm that it carries from the comics/show.

One of the first games I've ever played and I loved every part of the game. Although, comparing it to other games that I've played later, I can say that this wasn't something so special.
