One of the best jRPG I've played in a while. Great story, amazing visuals and locations, cool bosses and enemies, good music and sound effects. Drags a bit at the end, but overall - an amazing game

The additions to this re-release are all quite welcome, but it's still 80% the same game as before. Story and characters are more beefed up compared to the first game, but this falls off in the final act which feels barely worked on compared to the first couple of acts. Not much interesting new content to speak of in the last third.
Still had a blast playing it for the most part but really feels like this should have been DLC. I got this for around 35% off, but wouldn't pay full price.

Draws a lot more from Nocturne than SMT IV. Lots of quality of life improvements that make playing much easier and more fun. Hampered a bit by excessive collect-a-thons and mediocre side content, in a way that almost feels like an Ubisoft game.

If you've 100%ed the base game, the review score is more of a 4. The new things were sprinkled around the starting areas, and weren't that many. The new area was dope but it lead to the same final area. That's where I stopped playing and didn't finish it.

A huge improvement for the base game which felt empty and monotonous. The atmosphere and the battle system is still perfect and I loved to enjoy it again.
