Summary

What starts as a routine mission to an agrarian outpost quickly becomes the opening salvo in an epic war. As the newly appointed Executive Officer of the SSV Normandy, you'll assemble and lead an elite squad of heroes into battle after heart-pounding battle. Each decision you make will impact not only your fate, but the destiny of the entire galaxy in the Mass Effect trilogy. Key Features: Incredible, interactive storytelling. Create and customize your own character, from Commander Shepard's appearance and skills to a personalized arsenal. Unleash devastating abilities as you command and train. Your decisions will control the outcome of each mission, your relationships with your crew and ultimately the entire war. An amazing universe to explore. From the massive Citadel to the harsh, radioactive landscape of the Krogan home world – the incredible breadth of the Mass Effect universe will blow you away. Travel to the farthest outposts aboard the SSV Normandy, the most technologically advanced ship in the galaxy. You'll follow the clues left by ancient civilizations, discover hidden bases with fantastic new tech and lead your hand-picked crew into explosive alien battles. Edge-of-your-seat excitement meets strategic combat. Find the perfect combination of squad-mates and weapons for each battle if you want to lead them to victory. Sun-Tzu's advice remains as pertinent in 2183 as it is today – know your enemy. You'll need different tactics for a squad of enemies with devastating biotic attacks than a heavily armored Geth Colossus so choose your teams wisely.

A space opera spectacular! Diverse NPC personalities make the players choices, and outcomes of those choices, very rewarding. Simply great science-fiction storytelling.

An impressive entry in terms of what an excellent universe one entry has created, but when it concerns gameplay and story, it is clearly the weakest one in the trilogy.

For the legendary collection, visuals were improved significantly, and gameplay, on the other hand, is still exhausting at times to go through, but it is noticeably better than the original release.

The story is decent but weak compared to future entries; characters, though, are excellent and compelling. Really enjoyed the RPG aspect of the game with how, by not reading the moment correctly, even your trusty partner can perish permanently; overall, the paragon and renegade system is praiseworthy.

Side activities and some of the missions that require you to mostly shoot your way for extended periods of time leave much to be desired.

Personally, I would mostly return to this entry to go through the story to carry over my personal choices to the next entry of the series; besides that, it's still solid, but definitely not the game that made Mass Effect a household name.

got me out of my gaming block, I really liked the story and all the characters... cool lore and worldbuilding. great replay value, some places are copy and paste so that's a pity but for the time it was put out it's incredible. there aren't a lot of bugs overall in the legemdary edition I really enjoyed it. simple gameplay but still very fun to play!

I enjoyed it simple gameplay but addictive. Simple story, and a really disappointing ending. Like, Saren was a slave the whole game, and with just a couple of words, I convinced him? And not just that, I made him kill himself!

Good game, but it felt rushed. There were like 5 or 6 main missions, I don't know, feels like a demo for an RPG.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed it and wouldn't mind playing the rest of the series.
