Summary

Dragon Age II is the sequel to Dragon Age: Origins and the second major game in the series. Like its predecessor, players can explore and engage in combat from a third-person perspective and will also encounter various companions who play major roles in the plot and gameplay. Depending on players' decisions and dialogue, a companion will either recognize the main character Hawke as a friend or a rival. The game adopts the wheel-based dialogue system, meaning short responses that reflect different tones and attitudes the player wishes to choose for Hawke. The combat system is quite similar to the one used in the previous Dragon Age game, though it has been noticeably sped up.

idk felt rushed. I'd still replay it tho, gotta feed my dragon age addiction.

It was missing some of my favorite elements from DAO and DAI, namely interactions with companions, but thr combat might be the best in the series so far, and I still had a great freaking time.

People complain the combat of the first game is too slow, then they complain that the combat has changed.

This game isn't as bad as a lot of folks say it is. They dealt with a lot of budgeting issues so lots of reused environments, but the combat feels clean and responsive and the characters are interesting, if not nearly as funny as the first one. Still recommend.

The only reason this isn't a 10 for me is the laziness of the mob spawns and cave maps. Other than that? One of my all time favorite games and definitely the Dragon Age I've replayed the most.

A bag of mixed nuts.

The combat is fun but lacks depth and punch. The story is very engaging given the personal focus and the interesting mage-templar conflict.
