Heavy Rain revolves around an interesting and beautiful [wannabe] story, but it misses on alot of important things. it had too many cliche moments, and WAY too many cliche and cringy dialogues. the writing was straight up not good.
the overall idea of the story is good, but i just couldn't help but think how much better it all could've been portrayed. it failed to reach it's full potential for me. but i still liked it.”

~ i don't really know how i feel about the va in this game. it's very good at times, yet very weird and goofy at other times. even the same characters aren't very consistent. i think i blame the directing more. at too many times you could definitely tell they were poorly directed.

~ at first i thought it was actually gonna be a fun platinum that i could do with 1 replay, and it was, until the last two trophies. kamazakie and all endings. kamazakie was so hard, not because it was challenging, but because it was tied to terrible controls, and in one part of it you're pretty much scripted to fail. took me many many tires. but the one even worse than that was the all endings one. when i found out i had to replay the damn thing multiple more times, my day was ruined and my disappointment was immeasurable. replaying these games is just really not fun. not to mention that you have to sit through the entire 20 minute credits everytime.

"JASON! JASON! JASON!"

I've always heard positive things on this one & I can say that well, it's overhyped. Yes the twist is nice & sure (sometimes) the story is good but it ultimately just comes off rough. The voice acting is AWFUL. There were some moments where I honestly couldn't believe that it made it in the final cut. The controls are MADDENING. My oath. Between the controls & that fucking camera I thought I was gonna off myself.

All in all I found myself mostly enjoying it but it really holds itself back on what could have been the simplest of fixes. Lastly, I saved everyone & had a happy ending so at least I can leave it in the rear view with a positive light.

Final verdict: Wait for a sale

Love the story, not so much the controls.

The story was tremendously good and unanticipated. Unfortunately, the gameplay mechanics and the graphics didn’t help me to better merge with the story 🥲
