Entirely rebuilt from the ground up and masterfully enhanced, Demon's Souls is a remake of the 2009 release that introduces the horrors of a fog-laden, dark fantasy land to a whole new generation of gamers. Those who’ve faced its trials and tribulations before, can once again challenge the darkness in stunning visual quality with incredible performance. The remake features improved graphics and animations, sound and lighting tweaks and a reimagining of many of the visual, musical and mechanical aspects of the original game.

A VISUAL MASTAPEECE

Bluepoint studios,please make bloodborne happen.
The Artstyle is a visual delight with ray tracing features and the sound design just encapsulates with those haptics,it's a great feeling when you're in this world,Boletaria is stunning.
The only issue was the combat,it feels broken but that didn't stopped me.
Some might love the old school from ps3,but this my god, what they have done is a piece of art to remember by.

The baby of fromsoftware, the daddy of dark souls.

Navigating the dangerous and hauntingly beautiful landscapes of the SoulsBorne series has always been a journey with highs and agonizing lows. The latest entry, while a visual feast for the eyes, had a have bittersweet taste in my mouth as a veteran of the series. It's just shows the evolution of gaming that what was once groundbreaking can now feel "old", even when wrapped in the most stunning of modern graphics.

The game's world-building remains a strong point, with each realm offering a distinct atmosphere that is both torturing and also makes me want to explore its depths. The weapon variety encourages experimentation, rewarding those who adapt their playstyle to the challenges ahead. However, the limited number of levels per world may leave some players yearning for more, a desire to dive deeper into the rich lore and dark corners that the series is renowned for.

Boss battles, the crowning jewels of the SoulsBorne experience, shine with uniqueness and provide a stage for some of the most memorable moments in gaming which also applied to Demon's Souls. Yet, the predictability of their patterns over time chips away from the fight, revealing a formula that has been followed perhaps one too many times. The approaches were unique, but it became boring very fast. The narrative-driven confrontations with the world's final bosses, while conceptually intriguing, fail to evolve beyond their aesthetic beauty, leading to encounters that are as visually stunning but also mechanically mundane weird in a boring way.

Side quests and storytelling maintain a level of quality that fans have come to expect, offering glimpses into a world that is merciless as always. You could feel the franchise's roots in this game, providing a nostalgic journey for those who have traversed these cursed lands before. It's a game that captures the essence of its lineage, for better or worse, and serves as a bridge between the past and the potential of the future. This is the original thing!

In the end, the game stands as a must-play to the series of must-play games, a visually updated homage that clings to the gameplay of the older times. It's a reminder that expectations can be a double-edged sword, cutting through the joy of what is to expose the longing for what could be. (this game was the biggest reason why I bought a PS5 in the first place) For those who have walked the path of the SoulsBorne pilgrim, it's a familiar feeling with new sights, yet haunted by the ghosts of its predecessors. It's a journey worth taking, but one that may leave some travelers looking ahead, wondering what lies beyond the next fog-covered threshold.

Beautifully remastered. I only wish they made it a bit harder.

Played on: Playstation 5
Version: Playstation 5
Edition: Digital

I've heard a lot about this game & I've finally played it. I played my first experience as such with this year's "Elden Ring". At first I hated that game. Once I got to learn the rules of the game & play by them, I enjoyed myself.

This to me is so watered down in comparison & really doesn't offer enough (for me) to keep me going. I will possibly pop in here & there to see if it grabs me but for now, I'm good. My thoughts currently are that it's overhyped & rather dull. I will end on a positive though. This game is FUCKING GORGEOUS. Seriously. Visually this is stunning & runs like a dream. So in a visual & performance standpoint it is easily one of the best to offer currently for the Playstation 5.

P.S. Don't hit me with the fucking "probably cause you suck at it". No. This game is not as hard as everyone acts like. #Noflex

Final verdict: Wait for a sale

Fantastic visuals but sadly underwhelming gameplay because I feel the gameplay is stuck in the past with clunky movements and outdated bosses.
Would have loved to seen an upgraded checkpoint system but I guess I have to accept it's a Fromsoft game after all. The level design is top notch and overall is still a good game!
