The Evil Within 2 is the latest evolution of survival horror. Detective Sebastian Castellanos has lost it all. But when given a chance to save his daughter, he must descend once more into the nightmarish world of STEM. Horrifying threats emerge from every corner as the world twists and warps around him. Will Sebastian face adversity head on with weapons and traps, or sneak through the shadows to survive.

This played MUCH better than its predecessor. Better frame rate, mechanics, & overall a better experience. The story is still convoluted while also trying to figure its own identity out right in front of the player's eyes. Is it Resident Evil or Alan Wake? It doesn't even know itself.
While it may suffer from all things listed above & then some, it does have a quality at its core of being an interesting yet fun game. It just never reaches for the stars in doing so. I hope that in the future I can dive more into it because well, I didn't beat this one either. I just never found it all that engaging. Will I play it again? Only time will tell.
