Summary

Embark on an endless Star Wars action experience from the best-selling Star Wars HD video game franchise of all time. Experience rich multiplayer battlegrounds across all 3 eras - prequel, classic and new trilogy - or rise as a new hero and discover an emotionally gripping single-player story spanning thirty years. Customise and upgrade your heroes, starfighters or troopers - each with unique abilities to exploit in battle. Ride tauntauns or take control of tanks and speeders. Use the Force to prove your worth against iconic characters like Kylo Ren, Darth Maul or Han Solo, as you play a part in a gaming experience inspired by forty years of timeless Star Wars films.

I don't know if underrated is the right word for this but I wish it had more attention and players.

I do remember there being a lot of controversy surrounding it but I can't say I'm knowledgeable on that or what that was really about. And that's probably because I only played the campaign. I know, I wasn't even exposed to the best parts of Battlefront.

When I first bought and played this, I would go as far as to say I loved it. Although, on my more recent playthrough of the campaign I can definitely see and understand the criticism it gets. That's mainly due to the plot and length. It's just a very generic story that's very short. Aside from that, there's not much else to critique. But after playing online for the first time then switching to campaign, you see how much of a step down it is. There's many changes which aren't usually for the better. It just can't give you that same rush online gameplay can.

There are a lot of great game modes for online. My favorite being Capital Supremacy which has yet to be topped. The immersion is by far my favorite aspect. And when you're grinding on CS, you absolutely feel it. It does an incredible fucking job at capturing the vast and diverse universe of Star Wars. The huge and beautifully designed maps are mostly responsible for that. As are the graphics, gameplay, and wide range of different characters and infantry classes. It comes together and creates just a really fun Star Wars experience.

When it comes down to gameplay, they nail it of course. I really appreciate how there's a lot of different playable characters and infantry classes. With the different classes and heroes/villains also comes new skill sets and abilities. It makes the experience so refreshing and not very repetitive. While it also opens up so many more possibilities should another entry into this franchise be made.

When it comes to negatives, I really don't have many complaints. I think the main one just being that the campaign was very lackluster. And earning credits (the in-game currency) shouldn't be that tough, or maybe skins and emotes shouldn't cost that much. I've played a fucking lot and those in-game purchases still really eat up your credits and make you broke. It's genuinely tough earning a decent amount even if you have the skills and the grinding.

All in all, Battlefront 2 is such a fun and immersive experience, especially if you're a Star Wars fan. It might not be for everyone which is okay but it's one of the only online games I keep coming back to which says a lot.

Sincerely hoping for a sequel. I believe there's much untapped potential. Such as using more beloved characters and integrating more creative play styles to them. There's just endless possibilities. I know it's not looking very likely we'll get another one yet but they'd be stupid as hell not to.

That's all. Thanks for reading.

Was fun with friends, microtransactions ruined it and it was too late when they tried to fix it 😔.
