An incredible video game reminiscent of the all of the best things that Rpgs have to offer.

An absolute masterpiece. What starts off seemingly predicable, turns into one of the most shockingly unique and well crafted games I've ever played. An incredible passion project from start to finish. Few could honestly ever hope to make a game half as good as this. I'll spoil nothing except to say go in completely blind and with an open mind. Pretty much single-handedly restored my faith in good JRPG-style storytelling. Epic.

Absolutely incredible what this small studio has managed to make. They deserve all the love they're receiving! I'm having so much fun exploring the world of Sea of Stars. The story is pretty basic so far, but I love how charming some of the characters are. It's so cool. This RPG also features action moves, so you're always able to do something. It's completely optional to do, but it can definitely change the tide of battle to your favor. The art style is gorgeous and I can't wait to play more of it to see the other area they've made. This game also rewards the player when they go out to explore the area. There are clever hidden areas that will reward you with helpful items, if you are astute enough to spot them. Overall, this game is incredible so far. I was definitely skeptical about purchasing this game at first, but after 5 hours in, I can say I'm hooked.

From the first second i was absolutely captivated by the art style & how truly vibrant the game is. It’s truly visually very pretty & creative. So much variety in levels & areas to visit , and each area has its own unique theme & feel to it. The game will make you feel nostalgic due to its retro style and inspiration to the old turn based RPGs… story telling was very enjoyable with lovable characters no complains. Despite reading some comments that they didn’t enjoy the combat system, i on the other hand enjoyed it a lot it was simple but addictive plus it has nice animations to it. There’s a little bit of side activities you can do, they are nice. For example discovering a secret entrance in the river that will take you to a pop quiz! In conclusion this game is very charming and adorable. It’s hard not to enjoy it! Stunning visuals, level design, and creative execution made this game one of my favorite experiences this year. Beautiful and refreshing game. I can feel the devs love and passion for classics like Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG. I also see alot of old Zelda games in there. Fun combat, compelling exploration, satisfying-to-solve puzzles, beautiful art, and decent story.

A total masterpiece. If you have grown playing Rpgs like Golden sun, THIS is your game. There are relevant details in all the diferent locations of the game. Thanks Sabotage, I'm already looking forward to your next game!!

After 6 hours everything in the game is cool, except the story its pretty lackluster, however this is like the most important thing in Jrpg so I will drop the game.

A good story with stunning visuals is what makes this game what it is. My main issue with the game is the combat system. I'm not a fan of it and it also loses its luster after some time. I love this 90s RPG style tribute which provides a fresh take compared to other games available nowadays

Amazing game. I normally don't play JRPGs, but this one was such an excellent experience. The combat is so much more active/dynamic instead of the classic passive loop "pick action - pick target". The visuals are beautiful, both invoking nostalgia and amusement. It took me around 40 hours to complete, doing all side stories and extra activities. Highly recommended!!!

Away with random fights, away with that cumbersome inventory full of never-used objects, away with the obsession with grinding; i welcome the happy additions such as the Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga system, based on timing and capable of maintaining the player's involvement high even towards the basic enemies, an element to be mastered to the best of one's ability during the ferocious battles against the boss. The specter of repetitiveness is largely exorcised, but two protagonists of singular flatness and an all too limited range of skills slightly diminish the quality of the experience, without however managing to affect a fun product, magnificent to see, to listen to, to experience.

45 minutos de historia llevo...Ya empiezo a recordar nombres, situaciones...En algunos momentos me quedo admirando las animaciones de los escenarios. Un pixel-art delicioso, a otro nivel diría yo. La historia promete, mucho. Sin haber jugado al The Messenger, ni conocer el lore de ese universo (si es que las conexiones son evidentes), estoy encontrándome con algo que pinta a marcar época. Desde el minuto 1 me está haciendo revisitar lugares felices, en los que habito desde los 90... Por el momento todo oerfectamente coordinado. Vivan los JRPG, pardiez!. Actualización postgame: Que ha pachao!!...vaya viaje tan bonito, que historia tan tan bien construída, y que cantidad de cabos sueltos se quedan (intencionadamente), para DLC o nuevas entregas. El lore de este universo (multiverso) espaciotemporal es tan, tan, tan denso, e inexplorado, que puede dar para mucho. Ojalá el DLC destile tanta calidad. Eso si, el final me dejó un poco WTF, sobre todo el final, final. Aún así, nada desluce, nada desmerece...que gran trabajo!. Estamos ante un juego divertido de jugar, mezcla muy bien sabores como los clásicos JRPG por turnos con otros RPG por turnos pero con diferentes mecánicas durante el combate (Super Mario RPG). La factura técnica es increíble, para un estudio indie, es de un trabajo titánico, y de un mimo sublime. Cada animación, cada escenario, cada puzzle... La historia, podría parecer simple, e incluso de conclusiones previsibles, pero todos los giros argumentales, especialmente a partir de la mitad del juego, lo convierten en una obra intimista, que versa sobre la amistad, la carga, el dolor, el abandono, la tiranía, la esperanza, la culpa y la responsabilidad. Aquí, el camino del heroe, se imbrica con toda una serie de elementos superiores, que lo provocan, y que lo acaban detonando en su máximo explendor. La duración es buena, quizás contenida, un par de giros más hacia la última parte le hubiesen venido de perlas. Quizás la narrativa aquí se atropella, buscando un final, en mi opinión, algo apresurado. Y todo lo que queda abierto... Muchas ganas del DLC!

Sea of Stars e uma carta de amor para os fãs de Chrono Trigger! Esse jogo elevou o que seria um game em Pixel arte hoje em dia. Ele não fica preso a limitações que os jogos 8 e 16bits tinham para pegar você na nostalgia e sim esquecem essa parte e trazem tudo que a gente adorava naquela época nos moldes de hoje em tinha. E para mim, isso que faz novo jogo de Pixel Art ser bom, é Sea of Starts faz com maestria!

Pra mim, é um dos RPGs já feitos. Ele não se diferencia muito no aspecto mecânicas de RPG. Agora em questão de história fofa, personagens carismáticos, música e gráfico, além dos easters eggs. Q JOGO! E adorei Roda.

Jogo com simplificidade e melhorias de mecânica dos antigos JRPGs. Um deleite para quem jogava Final Fantasys de ps1/super Nintendo, entre outros títulos japoneses. Porém, o carro-chefe do jogo acaba cansando e atrapalhando um pouco. No combate fica repetitivo demais, mapas do jogo/plataformas que tem seu level design confuso, não sabe o que é relevo, escalada, para pular, etc. A história é impactada por ser muito longa e acaba tendo algumas enrolações e até te fazendo ir pra lá e pra cá no mapa. Mas no geral com construção de personagens muito bons salva a história. Enfim, ótimo pra quem é do nicho.

Bueno bueno bueno. Tenias buenas expectativas de este juego y las ha superado por mucho. Tirando de emocion y luego analisis decir que me ha encantado en todos los aspectos, he empatizado con los personajes, ha sido un viaje tremendo. Y ahora analizando. La historia parte de una base clasica pero tiene unos reveses que le da a todo una vuelta y no deja de tener momentos emocionantes e inesperados Todos o prácticamente todos los personajes estan bien construidos, son diferentes, hasta los muy secundarios tiene roles en varias partes de la historia y eso hace que no te olvides de ellos. La música es increíble, desde que empecé a jugarlo se me quedaron muchos temas en la cabeza y me encuentro a veces tarareandolos casi inconscientemente. Los escenarios son muy variados y literalmente preciosos aunque cuando la historia lo necesita saben hacerlos tenebrosos. El combate es dinámico, los ataques cronometrados, los bloqueos, los candados, las magias, combos...muchas posibilidades. Y por nombrar una última cosa tiene muchos secretos, coleccionables, secundarias etc. En resumen: JUEGALO!

Não sou muito de RPG's/JRPG's mas esse me chamou atenção por se parecer com Chrono Trigger A arte é linda, o combate em turnos é muito dinâmico o que faz não ser entediante, trilha sonora muito boa, história muito divertida e interessante com personagens bem carismáticos Fiz 100% dele e em nenhum momento foi maçante ou me deixou entediado.

🟥🟥🟥🟥🟨🟨🟨🟩🟩◼️ Una buena amistad dura a pesar del tiempo y lucha con todo. ✅ En el apartado gráfico y artístico del juego es excelente. ✅ La BSO del juego es muy buena y bastante variada. ✅ La historia es muy buena, está bastante bien contada y es entretenida con intrahistorias que te hacen querer saber más conforme vas avanzando. ✅ El gameplay es muy bueno aunque no demasiado complicado. A cada paso que das el juego introduce nuevas mecánicas que le dan otro salto al gameplay y lo hace muy variado. ✅ El contenido secundario me parece muy bueno, tiene bastante variedad. ✅ La duración para mi es óptima, habiendo durado unas 37h limpiando casi todo del tirón. ✅ Para personas como yo que nos gusta sacar el platino se agradece que no te hagan rejugar entero el juego por haberte saltado algo. 🔶 El sistema de looteo esta bien, pero para mi gusto, es muy simple, ya que con el hecho de ir comprando lo que tengan las tiendas ya vas sobrado. 🔶 El desplazamiento entre islas y entre zonas en los mapas es demasiado tedioso hasta que llegas a un punto de la historia que tienes una nueva mecánicas que lo facilita. 🔶 El combate contra jefes se hace algo pesado al no ver la vida que tiene, ya que no aparece ninguna barra de vida. Además de esta forma no puedes planificar bien qué ataques o combos hacer al no saber cual es tu mejor opción en ese momento. ❌ La única pega para mi es la falta de personalización.
