Summary

Resident Evil Village is a first person survival horror and the sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The game maintains elements from previous Resident Evil games with players having to scavenge environments for items and manage their resources. However, it adds more action-oriented gameplay, with higher enemy counts and a greater emphasis on combat.

The beauty of Resident Evil Village can't be described in words. it's probably the most ambitious and magical Resident Evil yet.

*RE: Village is a glamorous reimagination of the Resident Evil universe in every aspect! (+)

*Design concept, gameplay, puzzles, and explorations were perfectly presented. (+)

*Plot building and progression have a well-balanced pacing. It neither is too short nor too long. (+)

*The new writing style in Village & Biohazard is far better than the old RE games that kept milking overused aspects, and only its gameplay was compelling. (+)

*The ending is very satisfying, with an excellent twist and further lore to it. (+)

*Game direction was mediocre. from bad vocabulary choices to poor character reactions. (-)

*Village is a package of Bloodborne's atmospheric haunted Victorian-Era with Call of Duty's Gameplay polished in a Resident Evil universe, creating a very unique formula! (+)

•Never have I been a Resident Evil fan before Village.
A delightful experience.

Fuck this game. Awful. The writing is piss, the gameplay is boring, & visually it's bland. I had a terrible time & I struggled to make it to the end. When I got to Heisenburg's factory I asked myself if I even wanted to push forward any further. Very bad.

Final verdict: Don't touch

I always had mixed feelings towards resident evil as franchise. One I found to be good other bad,one is overrated, another underrated.I could never say that I enjoyed or disliked the franchise, somewhere in between.Until RE5 it was consistent, and I still believe they should have ended it after 5,because when you kill Wesker who was built to be final boss, and you save the world, what is left to do?I didn't like 6,and 7 was a surprise for since it brought back that survival horror aspects that franchise needed even though towards the end it was flawed in many ways. This one however is when they pretty much killed the franchise, and made me lose all the interest I had for RE.Village is without a doubt last RE game I will ever buy.Don't care about anything that happens afterwards,or any cashgrab remake they decide to do next.Gameplay was pretty much RE7 but worse, again it's first person survival horror...WITHOUT survival horror. There are so many moments where we are supposed to be scared playing it,but it wasn't scary at all.It felt like I was playing Call Of Duty zombies or something.Movement is soooo slooooww. It doesn't matter if you are running or walking,it feels so slow.Sensitivity on default is horrible, luckily you can change it.Story had so many moments where you scratch your head thinking "huh, how, why".It's a sequel to an RE7 and it was dissapointing to say at least.Story is about Ethan trying to save his daughter, going through hell again just to die in the end.I actually felt sorry for Ethan because he goes through hell twice and had to end in such bad way.I will say it was a surprise, since protagonists in RE don't die,so I quess it was a good shock factor.I would rather see one of 4 main protagonists die in RE9,it makes no sense they all keep surviving. And one thing that annoys me me is when does Capcom plan to finish this game, they just keep running in circles.Back to Village.Ost was ok for most part, main theme is good,I also liked the Castle level.Level design was nice for the most part,I wasn't fan of backtracking.Boss fights were not that good, and characters themselves were very forgetable.I can't help but notice, there was a character that made most RE fans buy the game in the first place, and that's Lady Dimitrescu.I will not lie,her character design is great, her voice actresses did a fantastic job,but problem is the audience she brought to RE fandom. The amount of simps, the amount of perverts her character brought it's disquisting.I understand if you think that certain character looks beautiful, and you have sympathy for it,but these individuals are some of the most disquisting, sick perverts I ever saw in my life, seriously, you have to read a comment section to believe what I'm saying. That's type of audience you don't want play the game. It's shame, because they did a great job with her and her 3 daughters. She's was supposed be a stalker enemy you can't kill, but she wasn't scary like Nemesis was in original,or Mr.X in remake when you play for first time.I know for a fact I'm not gonna play Village of Shadows since you go through same levels as Rose, glad I didn't waste my money on DLC's,same thing with 7 as well.I will not play Village ever again,or any RE after this one,I can safely say I saw enough of this franchise to know developers are milking it to the max.I will only play the ones I enjoyed like RE1 Remake,5 Revelations 2 etc.Done with this franchise.
