Summary

The biohazard threat has not ended: Just when it seemed that the menace of Resident Evil had been destroyed, along comes a new terror to send shivers down players' spines. Chris Redfield, returning Resident Evil hero, has followed the path of the evil literally around the globe. After joining a new organization, Chris heads to Africa where the latest bioterrorism threat is literally transforming the people and animals of the city into mindless, maddened creatures. He is joined by a new partner, Sheva Alomar, who lends her strength, intelligence and sharp-shooting skills to the mission. In order to survive, Chris and Sheva must work together to take on the challenges of discovering the truth behind this evil plot. Utilizing a revolutionary new 2-player co-op mode of gameplay, players assume control of either Chris or Sheva and experience Resident Evil in new ways. In Resident Evil 5, Capcom has players fearing the daylight as much as they have feared shadow in previous games.

Resident evil 5 has always had a divided audience much like Resident evil 6 which means....I would 100% have loved it. Come on now you can't make me hate RE5 and 6 no matter how much BS you throw my way. Sure to me this is the least scariest game. However you can't complain "oooooh bUt iT's tOo mUcH aCtIoN!!!" But re4 had more action than horror tOo, so where is the hate for that🙄 Fans are so weird sometimes that they can't accept versatility when it gets offered to them in a golden platter.

I can appreciate this game Wanted the main enemies to be different however the Plagas in RE4 remain superior to me although the enemies in 5 are tougher. I appreciate this game knew that it had a lot of shoes to fill after RE4 and Revelations 1. In a way the bosses were more challenging in this than RE4 like the Gooey monster you gotta set on fire, but I also appreciate how there were tributes to re4 with certain bosses like EL Gigante.

Excella Looks hot, Chris look Hot, Sheva looks Hot, Jill looks hot, Wesker's body tea... Why's everyone hot in this God damn giving me body dysmorphia😩. The storyline is fine although I do prefer the storyline for RE6. I still appreciate this storyline. This is the final Showdown between Chris and Wesker's Enemy romance. Sheva is a great addition to this universe. She is very caring and loyal towards Chris even tho she met him like 5 mins ago. Like this girl trusts this man with her whole existence. And I appreciate how much of a boss she can be. We got Jill with her bayonetta fan service shots. But she look fine doin it. We got excella and wesker with their tattas out and about. This game is full of fan service. Deadass and I'm not complaining.

I played this with my cousin because Co op is the best experience of playing this game if I have to be honest, the game itself is fast paced, competitive and sometimes punishing if you dunno how to handle your resources. I feel like if I played this alone I probably would have liked it less. The dlcs were fine. I liked the Jill and chris one as it gave me RE1 nostalgia and the Jill and josh dlc was mid. Didn't hate it, it just exists. The resources themselves are pretty decent drops although you need to do a lot of organising but hey you can't call it Resident evil if you dont open the inventory every 10 seconds...

Anyways can't wait for the Remake, ill be waiting IMPATIENTLY.

This game is so good and I don't entirely understand why people don't like it. I haven't played it in single player (maybe that's why people don't like it?) but I had an amazing experience playing with a friend.
RE4 is widely considered a masterpiece but RE5, which is essentially just RE4 with co-op, hasn't received anywhere near the same amount of praise. I hope Capcom shows some love and remakes this game because I think more people need to play it and talk about it.
It's so much fun as is but they could improve the game a lot with a few quality of life changes:

- The inventory system definitely needs to be fixed but that shouldn't be hard (just give us upgrades that increase our space and let us choose exactly how much ammo we can send our partner)

- I played as Sheeva during our playthrough and god damn that part where you have to mash X to avoid falling into lava absolutely destroyed my thumb. Please chill with the quick time events.

They could even make huge changes to the story and gameplay and I would be perfectly happy as long as they kept splitscreen as a feature. Here are some ideas:

- I wouldn't mind if they removed Sheeva as a playable character. Don't get me wrong - I like her design and everything - but I think Player 2 should be Jill or Claire or any character that has a stronger connection to Chris than a random woman he met in Africa.

- I'd also appreciate it if they reworked the zombies with guns encounters. I don't mind the idea of zombies with guns but, when they start combat rolling, I felt like I was playing Gears of War instead of Resident Evil. I think the infected should be just a bit dumber.

- If Capcom wants to avoid the incredibly nonsensical controversy with the Africa setting again, then just change the continent. It doesn't really affect the story at all.

I have a lot more suggestions but you get the idea. RE5 has so much potential and if Capcom capitalise on it then they could easily turn this game into a 10/10.

Not the best in the franchise since it feels very disjointed regarding it's gameplay and atmosphere. The overall style is very similar to RE4 which had an awesome story while this had a not so impressive but ok story. However, it has a variety in bad guys and monsters which RE4 did not have. The final chapter was the best and most challenging and hence was very fun, this was my first face off with Wesker and he proved to be a nice villian. I've heard this game is better played in it's multiplayer mode but alas it's done. I've yet to play the DLCs.
