The original story and the scale of the Sinnoh region’s towns and routes have been faithfully reproduced. This remake has also been revitalized with some of the player-friendly features of modern Pokémon games and up-close-and-personal Pokémon battle scenes. Whether you played Pokémon Diamond Version or Pokémon Pearl Version back in the day or you’re encountering these games for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

That said, the game it is based off is amazing and in a way so is BDSP. Sinnoh is still fantastic to get lost in. As I was playing I realised I wasn't getting nostalgia for the original, I essentially WAS playing the original. There's nothing inherently **bad** about BDSP but there is a lot **wrong** with it.
IMO this game should've been a graphical push for the Switch- it looks like trash compared to the far more beautiful BOTW, Mario Odyssey, and Metroid Dread (the latter two of which run in 60fps). For god's sake this console can run Doom Eternal!!!
