Summary

Revisit the Sinnoh region and the story of the Pokémon Diamond Version game Experience the nostalgic story from the Pokémon Diamond Version game in a reimagined adventure, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, now on the Nintendo Switch system! Adventures in the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond game will take place in the familiar Sinnoh region. Rich in nature and with mighty Mount Coronet at its heart, Sinnoh is a land of many myths passed down through the ages. You’ll choose either Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup to be your first partner Pokémon and then set off on your journey to become the Champion of the Pokémon League. Along the way, you’ll be able to encounter the Legendary Pokémon Dialga. Adventure together with the Pokémon that appeared in the Pokémon Diamond Version game. Players of the original games can revisit familiar places and relive familiar scenes, while first time players can enjoy plenty of fun encounters and surprises that the Sinnoh region has to offer. The original story and the scale of the Sinnoh region’s towns and routes have been faithfully reproduced. This remake has also been revitalized with some of the player-friendly features of modern Pokémon games and up-close-and-personal Pokémon battle scenes. Whether you played Pokémon Diamond Version or Pokémon Pearl Version back in the day or you’re encountering these games for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Graphics for me aren't everything, but I really can't stand these graphics. One of the few times graphics bothered me. Looks like a rip-off zelda links awakening remake, the proportions are just completely off here, making it feel so awkward. Just feels like a really quick and cheap remake for money, which is what gamefreak has come to unfortunately. Would only recommend honestly to people who really want to have a complete collection of Nintendo or pokemon, or else steer clear, you are way better off playing the original version of these games, and even though they can he pricy, it's just that much better plus they will hold their value and even increase. That little extra is worth it compared to this dumpster fire of a game

As someone who had Diamond as their first game ever, I have to say I had very high expectations for this & knew they wouldn’t be met the second the initial trailer came up. No, we didn’t want a copy-paste of the original games with a fresh coat of paint. Repeating mistakes from 2007 that were a limitation of its time as opposed to conscious decisions is not being faithful to the original piece, it’s just being lazy. It’s clear to me that TPC intended on this being a safe cashgrab that would sell well regardless in case Legends Arceus didn’t please.

With that being said, in the months leading up to the game, I managed to accept the game for what it was so I could still have an enjoyable experience when it came out. It was a fun way to relieve my childhood in a (considerably) better way, without needing to waste party slots for HMs, with an expanded roster and beautiful-looking battles, and I have to take my hat off for those incredible gym leader and Elite 4 rematches.

The chibi style has its charm but it makes it impossible to take some story sequences seriously (Cyrus, looking at you), and there is no excuse for the Battle Frontier to not be in. These are the weakest remakes of the franchise, and not because the way they look, but because unlike HGSS, they didn’t give me enough reasons to fully abandon the original generation’s games; I might not touch the OG Diamond again, but there’s still a lot of reasons to play Platinum.

A perhaps too faithful remake of a DS classic. I had fun with it but compared to other Poké offerings on switch it definitely falls short.

This game is supposed to have the hardest elite four, I beat them all on the first try, we are not the same

A fine remake, a couple of new features in the underground giving access to previously unobtainable Pokémon but outside of that it wasn't much to write home about. Even some of the old glitches were carried over instead of being fixed. Seemed like they phoned this in a little too much
