Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version are the primary paired versions of Generation V. Black and White follow the trends set up by previous games in the series. Two player characters (one male and one female) travel a new region, Unova, on their Pokémon journeys. This region is inhabited by various Pokémon, and unlike before, none of those available prior to Generation V can be obtained before completing the main story by defeating Team Plasma. The games' names were revealed on the official Japanese Pokémon website on April 9, 2010, and scans from the subsequent issue of the magazine leaked the following day, April 10. Pokémon Black and White are followed in 2012 by two sequels, Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, which are set two years after the events of Black and White. Black 2 and White 2 are the second and final paired versions of Generation V.

Anywho this game was frankly so much better than the anime could ever do it justice. It is frankly one of my least favourite gens in the show however games wise. After Sinnoh (gen 4) this is my second favourite gen of the games. People like to discredit this gen due to the anime while also feeling like it copied the first gen pokemon. Yea sure there are similarities. However I don't see it because the Pokemon are so good. Some brilliant typings Some of the best designs are in this gen like Golurk or even Volcarona. I have so much love for this gen. The map itself is 1000x better than Kanto and I will fight anyone who says otherwise! Even the legendaries outsell the Kanto legendaries (apart from mewtwo) the legendaries to Me are much better than most legendaries in other regions too...well....maybe not the elemental genies.💀in my mind it is Canon they were designed by gay men. 🤷🏻♂️
The gym leaders are very easy especially if you've prepared ahead of time and are at a higher level than you're supposed to be. This is my second walkthrough of this game. Practically the only pokemon game I've visited more than once. My first playthrough I did choose Tepig although I wasn't the biggest fan of Ash's tepig I was a Snivy lover. I chose tepig because it has useful typings and is the only starter in this gen with 2 typings on the final Evolution. My second playthrough I did choose Snivy. It was a bit punishing to be a Snivy main considering Snivy stays a grass type in both evolutions. And most of the gyms are pretty much....not grass friendly. But I'd do anything for Snivy. That's one of my favourite pokemon of all time. Again the anime did no justice to Snivy or even....95% of ash's roster...that's why they lost to a low level Riolu...this whole gen in the anime was a full meme specially Pikachu losing to a level 5 snivy😭😭EMBARRISING. I personally like to ignore that season
Anyways my final team the first time around was;
Emboar, Reshiram, chandelure, Gigalith, Haxorous, Unfezant (Male)
My second time around; Serperior, Gothitelle, Jellicent (female) Krookodile, Druddigon, Unfezant (female). Overall fantastic game and deserves a remake, also I do wish for at least a mega evolution for all 3 starters cause how does Audino's fat ass get one but not serperior!
