Summary

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 is a role-playing video game developed by Atlus. In the game, the player takes the role of a male high-school student who joins the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (SEES), a group of students investigating the Dark Hour, a time period between one day and the next that few people are aware of. During the Dark Hour, the player enters Tartarus, a large tower containing Shadows, creatures that feed on the minds of humans. To fight the Shadows, each member of SEES is able to summon a Persona, a manifestation of a person's inner self. In addition to the standard elements of role-playing games, Persona 3 includes elements of simulation games, as the game's protagonist progresses day by day through a school year, making friends and forming relationships that improve the strength of his Personas in battle.

This game can be TEDIOUS in the gameplay department! It's ridiculously annoying at times because the mechanics in this game are not on par with what is implemented on later Persona games, that being said... This game's story is incredible. Main Story, really shows you the essence of life, the value of life. There will be Ups and Downs no matter what. That partings will always occur, whether it's because it's your time to move, or because it's your time to depart this world. This game really leaves an impression on what you perceive with life and death. If you played the FES version, the extra DLC content, "The Answer" is also amazing but RIDICULOUSLY TEDIOUS!! It's even harder and more grind intensive than the main story. Overall unenjoyable if you don't want to spend grinding away for levels... That being said, "The Answer" shows how different the main cast reacts to when they have to deal with the topic of loss. The loss of a loved one, that they all grieve over, and how to accept their death and move on with their lives. Overall, this story is incredible. Be prepared for a difficult game if you decide to play it.
