Story analysis: Deep philosophical story rooted in Existentialism and Absurdism. One tale of beguile, deceit, abuse, futile hopes and endevours in pursuit of nonexistent goals and ideals. In this game abandoned sentient machines struggle to make sense of the meaning of their existence. This dilemma painfully ricochets back at humanity with the same lack of meaning, same obscure and self-invented relationship with an apparently nonexistent creator. Like many other soul searching stories it's not happy or pretty, but the ultimate message is actually very invigorating. In accepting the lack of a predefined meaning you realize you're not a tool but free to do what you want. Freedom is way more valuable. Do what you want with your life and forge your own identity from ground up.

Undisputed banger from the creative genius of Yoko Taro. This game deconstructs the meaning of life when life has no purpose. Fantastic story, world-class soundtrack, frenetic gameplay.

NieR:Automata is one of those games where it's more special by each playthrough, the story that automata tells while it can certainly be told in every other media, I don't believe it can be done as effective and can be done in such a natural way in any other media except video games, I won't go into why because spoilers...and the characters also have a lot of depth the more you think about it and the more you learn about the world and the messages of the game...after you get it you realize it was all there from the begging you just couldn't see it as clearly... honestly I'll never forget automata it's a truly special game...and on the combat department it's so much solid and has a great skill ceiling considering you can switch weapons on the fly and you can do so many cool combos and you feel like his incredibly agile, incredibly fast killing machine (except if you're playing as 9s which his sections are enjoyable too but not as much as 2b of a2) also automata seamlessly mixes in whole different combat systems that work really great and work as great ways to break up from the original combat as a pallet cleanser and also the game is filled with so many mysteries and things to see that even after a 5th playthrough you'll probably find new stuff to explore and the environmental story telling of the game is also superb, the vibes of the story are perfectly told through the world...I could go on and on about automata but I'll just leave it at that...(Also 2b is the best character with the most depth, just wanted to mention that)

What a beautifull way to tell story. Very unique end of the world story. Love it. The world design was a bit boring but the story makes up for that.
Enjoyed for 46 hour total.

Yoko Taro… you have my biggest thanks for bringing this game into the world. DrakeNier is an arousing universe. Never felt so many miscellaneous emotions through a video game. I just can’t describe how much I love this game, more than love, every inch of this masterpiece is rooted inside me. It’s not just a moving story or incredible characters, no, it’s way more than that. By playing we truly experience an astonishing birth, the emergence of grief by the fulfilment of the game playing with us. We’re not in control anymore and we learn to enjoy as we fear this daunting and sublime experience.
