Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at the time of release was a 9/10. One of the better Mario Karts but still lacked in some areas that other Mario Karts had.

Today, after all the updates and improvements and DLC, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a legitimate 10/10 and the best Mario Kart game hands down.

With a whopping 96 tracks today, you will never get sick of playing any track in this game due to the sheer variety. All the newly added characters make this objectively the best character selection Mario Kart has had too. This is a result of what happens when Nintendo supports a game for more than 10 years.

The only way this can be topped if is the next game is Super Kart Bros (I.e the big karting crossover we all want cmon Nintendo)

WHY NOBODY TOLD ME THIS GAME IS THIS GOOOOOOOOD????

Okay, okay, okay...first of all now I understand why everyone loves Mario kart...and also why everyone hates blue shells.

This game is so much fun! I mean it's a racer but oh my...there is tons of maps (48 to be exact...without DLC maps tho, with them the amount doubles!!! Which is insane!), the races itselves are super fun and super short (one round is not even 5 minutes), you have a lot of characters to pick from (exactly 48 with DLC ones, sadly some of them are only baby versions of the others so that's a bit of a bummer) and the power ups are fun to use.

The maps are each distinct and most of them has some hidden mechanic like you making sound as you drive over piano like ground or using clock hands as a shortcut.

The soundtrack is amazing. Each course has its own melody and all fits so perfectly. Also the fact that at last round every melody speeds up is just *chef's kiss*

Also I swear this is the only game where you don't want to be first because the first player gets punished by half of the power ups and gets almost no fun power ups to use themselves. Way more fun to play this game is by losing and I really appreciate that🤭

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the premo Mario Kart game, at the time of writing. Bringing together so many wonderful elements and tracks from previous games, with online play and tons of variety in tracks, Cups, vehicles and characters, this one is a joy to play. I have been playing this game for over 3 years at the time of writing, and feel it time to write something. A stellar game, with no flaws from my perspective, and a must have from the Switch era.
