Summary

Lost Judgment is an action-adventure video game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega. A sequel to the 2018 game Judgment (a spin-off of the Like a Dragon series), the game focuses on private detective Takayuki Yagami as he investigates a criminal accused of both sexual harassment and murder Joined by his partner, ex-yakuza Masaharu Kaito, the crime-fighting duo is called on to investigate a seemingly perfect crime whose lead suspect has an airtight alibi. What starts as a tale of revenge reveals a tangled web of conspiracy involving several unlikely factions taking advantage of a broken law system. But as victims pile up and Yagami unravels the truth, he must choose between defending the law or exacting justice.

This game was an improvement in every aspect of Judgment.

The graphics and colors were vibrant and alive.

The gameplay was much smoother than the first game, there were tons of elements added to make it feel more like a detective game.

The soundtrack was payed attention to more.

And the story was just another masterpiece from RGG studios. The characters were magnificent! The secondary antagonist and villain of Judgment was way better but the main antagonist and side characters were much much deeper and more complex. I laughed and I cried. Which rarely happens in games for me. Yakuza 0 might have some competition for me now!

A really great sequel to Judgement, pretty much better in every single way. Loved this one. Probably my favourite game from the RGG (Yakuza) franchise overall. Best gameplay in the series, the writing was fantastic. A few annoyances in the design of some of the non combat gameplay such as stealth/climbing/tailing but there aren't an over-abundance of these. It fixes most of the issues I had with the first game. Hoping they follow with a third game as this would be an extremely solid trilogy. I need more stories with these characters.

Also final boss of this game is definitely in the top 10 final bosses I've ever played.

(also extremely badass title "Lost Judgement". Props to SEGA for not being generic and calling this Judgement 2.)

They really took Judgment, and already amazing game, and just made it 10x better in practically every regard i.e. combat, substories, music, exploration, etc etc etc etc. Only the story isn't as good but that's only because Judgments story is just that good.

A fantastic, gorgeous game with probably the best combat in the series and a fantastic main story that still resonates with me, plus an absolutely absurd amount of high-quality side content in the School Stories. Once again, the Judgment series shines as a great entry point in the series; you don't even have to play the first Judgment to enjoy this one (but you absolutely should).
