LIFE CHANGING MASTAPEECE

Those who know not,That they are not 💜
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has become something bigger than itself, a symbol in the gaming community.
Who knew it would take only 30 French devs escaping from Ubisoft to build their own game and prove it how a masterpiece work is actually done to not just ubisoft, square enix but also taking inspiration from soulslikes developer's and smashed success in a week of release.
Not just they made a game but they also changed the turn based genre, period.
They had passion, they had vision, they had love for something they executed in and it delivered.
The world design is breathtaking and the soundtrack is phenomenal.A true work of art, visually stunning looking, creative godly combat and exactly the kind of innovation the industry desperately needs more of,its a well crafted experience.

The prologue itself is a masterpiece, cried like a man with tears in his eyes not realising that this is just a game.Yes,it's more than just a game,It's a beauty of something that doesn't exist but make you feel it.
Something that touches you and you feel something out of it,personally.
Like I said before,i was touched by its story and characters so much,I couldn't resist from even taking a break.

The biggest star of the game for me,outside of its interesting story/voice acting, is the music.Every song is some variety of banger, with several genres hit depending on the situation.
I have a simple rule for games in general, whatever the genre is.If the music and combat is good,I m sold.
Originality at its best, the score they did on this one is probably my favourite ost of this year,no doubt about It.
Each area you discover with that melancholic sound design makes you want to sloshed away from real life and get immersed into it's world, its mesmerizingly beautiful.

Combat is a blend of cocktail mix which you will definitely love, take modern final fantasy with,a tiny splash of Nier, add some of that sekiro parrying and boom you got something new-THE EXPEDITIONER.
Each character plays different, every element is different, every skill is different, every weapon is different, every enemy is different, every build is different, this fuckin game is different. Its a mastercraft work done in a masterful way and that's done in real time turn based role playing game.
A new franchise is born.
I was never a fan of turn based,I find it slow, boring, need more strategised thinking and that's coming from a guy who plays metal if you know what I mean.

A perfect example for storytellers and writers that you can write anything weird and it turns out to be the best selling but from a videogame,Story is an emotional masterpiece, funniest written dialogues, something to remember by.
Those one in a million games that just leave you speechless. I could write an entire novel for a review and still feel like I have not done this game justice.
Best way to describe is to feel it for yourself.
Sandfall interactive first game and easily my top 5 this year, maybe goty who knows.

It really changed my life so yeah,Thankyou.

It’s not often a game like this is aware of its most common flaws—like the boorish, unending dialogue from NPCs, the unbearable way main characters always seem to talk that makes them so unlikable, or the relentless dumping of lore that only the developers seem to find interesting.
I can sympathize,it must be hard to work so hard on something and not want to overshare it. But that’s what makes this game so good: it knows when to fall back and let the game be its own entity.
The first hour is one of the best in that regard, with great character introductions and a perfectly staged setup.
What follows is great too,but it didn’t live up to my expectations. In both story and environment, the game changes tracks. The streets of Lumière, desolate and decrepit, had me jumping in my seat, dreading what was awaiting on that island, only to be welcomed by sunshine and rainbows.
And the story, wrapped in layers of mystery and injustice, slowly unravels into a melancholy tale of family woes.
It’s not bad,but it falls more on the “wonderland fantasy world” side of the tracks, which I’ve ignored my whole life.

But even as the story took a turn I wasn’t too fond of, the gameplay kept me hooked enough to pull a few all-nighters. Each character’s distinct design made the combat a constant learning experience that never got boring or automatic.
That and the parry mechanic,
that basically forced me to learn enemy movesets, which sometimes felt like a bump in the road, but one I appreciated. I also really liked the Pictos system, perks are often throwaway features in other games, but here, being able to push them to the point of feeling overpowered was a definite plus.

This game is what i thought the future of gaming would look like when i was 12,and i don’t need to tell you it isn’t.
the market is filled with uninspiring copies of games we used to treasure on a bigger emptier scale, that give me nothing but disdain.
So thank you sandfall studios for letting me go back to that feeling, for a game about moving on,it sure knew how to take me back.

for someone else in 20 years, expedition 33 will be that one RPG you played in your teenage years and never forgot to this day

We're continuing on with the multiple game releases this year. This time, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I know many people have waited a long time to play this, including me.

I will do a proper review as usual, so far it's everything I could've wanted. Turn based with real time combat. Strongly written characters and storytelling, GOTY contender for me.

For now - it's nice to see a Double-A studio creating games like this. These devs clearly had a passion to deliver on this project, we need more of this back in gaming, I strongly recommend.

I was excited for this when it first got announced. What i didn't expect is this to become one of my all time favourite games and easily one of the best I've played. The story, art and visuals, voice acting, gameplay, everything is just done so well. It's as near perfect as you can get. I applaud the studio for this being their first game. I look forward to what they have next.
