Summary

Few games will hit the level that this game has. It's too good to explain in just words but let me just try. The music, the characters, the story. All of it coalesces in a game that just works and feels everlasting. It's a great experience even now almost 30 years later

Probably the best JRPG of all time.
I recently played it again but I am speechless and really don't know where to start to praise this game. I think Chrono Trigger really encapsulates what the videogame media can do at its core, as a combination of great story and pacing, captivating visuals, amazing soundtrack, and carefully curated gameplay.
Came out almost 30 years ago and still holds to this day. Give it a try.

I wasn't able to play this game when it came out as I wasn't into jrpgs at a young age but when I had time to pop this game in, boy was I hooked. I loved every bit of the game and could not put it down. I started playing this at the start of covid and it was soo good from the story to all the characters. Boss fights were great, music was amazing. It will always be a top 10 game of mine.

A game that has somehow not been matched by the vast majority of JRPGs to come out since. It's story and main villain are ahead of its time, it's gameplay is simple but fun, and it's soundtrack is legendary.
