Summary

The story of Cal Kestis continues in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a third-person, galaxy-spanning, action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. This narratively driven, single-player title picks up five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and follows Cal’s increasingly desperate fight as the galaxy descends further into darkness. Pushed to the edges of the galaxy by the Empire, Cal will find himself surrounded by threats new and familiar. As one of the last surviving Jedi Knights, Cal is driven to make a stand during the galaxy’s darkest times — but how far is he willing to go to protect himself, his crew, and the legacy of the Jedi Order?

A perfect sequel to the Fallen Order. Takes everything that was great about the first and just improves on it. The gameplay is just better, the systems are expanded, the story is deeper, the stakes are higher, the world is huge, the music is amazing. It all feels so much more immersive and personal than the first game.

If this gets a third game, it has potential to be one of the best star wars trilogies in a very long time.

And no spoilers or anything but there is a particular boss fight in this game which is one of the best boss fights ever experienced in a video game.

The customisability here also amazing and you can really make Cal feel like the Star Wars protag you want him to be. Want to feel like an old Republic robed Jedi? You can. Want to feel like a bounty hunter or smuggler? You can also do that.

The story and writing alone here have improved tenfold over the game and have somewhat of a (dare I say) Naughty Dog quality to it. I was just wowed and amazed by certain parts of a story.

This is a TREAT for Star Wars fans.

*to note: I played this on the PS5 and while the performance was pretty bad, it was still playable. However I do think that the bad performance did hinder my experience and should have been delayed to address it (even moreso for the PC version). It's a shame really, as this would have been an easy 10/10 I've had to drop it a whole point for the performance alone. I may come back and revisit this review if it does get addressed in the future.

EXTREMELY good. This game takes Fallen Order & injects it with steroids. Fantastic world building, character moments, & gameplay. Like many have stated, it's in some rough shape right now (Performance, bugs, etc.) but besides that, this game is breathtaking.

I had a blast & will easily come back to it in the future. I'm beyond impressed & this is the best content based in the IP in a LONG time. If the third builds on THIS, then we might have one of the best trilogies ever.

Final verdict: Buy it

Despite the issues at Day 1, this game elevated all the best of Jedi Fallen Order by taking it to the next level and adding amazing new elements and features. The story is wonderful and it's as worth as the movies, plot twists, character development and everything I could ever ask for. Thank you to everyone who worked on this gem 💙

Star Wars: Bug Survivor edition... Its horrible paying 70€ in the release date for a game which crashes a Ps5 (that its the best platform to enjoy gaming). I am a big fan of Stars Wars, for this reason I paid, but of course it dissapoint me. Also I have enjoyed playing Star Wars Survivor, but to me its not a good sequel

a) Good things:

- Enemies bots conversation are really funny
- Combat (althought it would be good that you can select when you want all the combat styles)

b) Bad things:

- I suffered maybe 6 full crashes which completly close the game
- HDR mode ultra break --> IMPORTANT: If you are playing this game, disable it. I realized after 10h....
- I suffered 2 problems during the game, which they did not close the game, but I couldnt do anything... so I had to close of course
- Texture loading problem during the cinematics, during the game, during the moment when you are landing the ship in every world... I have a ps5 with a LG OLED level C, so during these moments I wanted to cry...
- Huge mapping but empty... I prefer something smaller and with more details
- Listening two NPCs conversation at the same time is horrible. @developers: Is it so difficult to control this??
- The Jedi fallen Order scenarios/levels/worlds impressed me much more than this. Its a problem.. you have a lot of collectibles that its cool to read their description. But we expect more big things as starships (you can see and xwing, a TIE and a shuttle..), film references, film/characters collectibles,.....
- Uncharted cinematic gameplay type dissapears in this game. In Jedi Fallen Order we steal and control an ATST, why we dont have this hype situations in Survivor?? To a Star Wars fan its a pitty...
- The same personal wish that I had after Jedi Fallen Order: I want to choose between good and dark side, as we did in The force unleashed saga. It would be reeeeaaaally good. Also, related to this, I want to chose the red light cristal during the game xD

Basically, this is not a next gen game, and it should have been. Everybody expected too much about Jedi Survivor, and I think we will wait to the next to really enjoy it...
