Summary

Celebrate 20 years of Sonic in an all new adventure that delivers a definitive experience to Sonic fans new and old!

slide 1 to 4 of 5
If I told myself 10 years ago that I would be playing and enjoying Sonic games,I would laugh so hard in disbelief. For years I was dodging this game because I had no interest, and there is a youtuber called NordicWarriorGaming who put this in his top 100 games,so I decided "You know what?Let's give it a try".And damn I didn't expected to enjoy Sonic as I did.Game prioritises one thing over everything else and that's fun.I had so much fun playing this,I desperately needed to play something different for a change, and Sonic delivered for sure.Game is a celebration for 20 years,it's a 2D,3D platformer. You play as both retro sonic and modern sonic. As retro you go through levels in 2d sections, while modern Sonic goes through mix of 2D 3D platforming.Level design was very creative, you basically fly through levels in joy and speed of sound. You go through levels of games from 20 years and my favorite is dedinetly City Escape. There arw 9 levels to play as both Sonics, plenty of challenge acts which becomes more difficult as you progress,Rival battles against Silver, metal sonic and Shadow. Also boss fights against Eggman,Perfect Chaos are really good,I just wish it wasn't Eggman for the most part, but still they did a fantastic job with it.All were very creative and forces you to think while having reflexes like ninja as you do it.Story was simple,a lot of time traveling stuff, you bring towns and your friends back by beating levels, they can also appear as part of challenge acts.Ost was great,a lot of memorable soundtracks that feel nostalgic, but my god City Escape song was fire.Going through that level while that song is playing was such a good feeling.I had 0 intention of checking out Sonic games, but now I really want to try the rest,at least retro ones.Modern ones not so much, they look bad if I'm being honest, but yeah I can definetly see myself play this game more often.Gameplay was so fun that I really didn't care about anything else,I would recommend Generations to all generations of gamers, regardless if you are retro or modern gamer,I can guarantee you will have fun playing this

It takes a while to get used to the controls and the physics but the more I replayed the levels the more I enjoyed this game. With that being said, Modern Sonic handles so poorly whenever you slow down in the 3D sections or need to change direction in the 2D sections - I died so many times because the game forced me to face the wrong way. Other than that, I don't have any complaints.

it's been years since I played a real sonic game I am not even a big fan. Note that I hated 2D sonic for some reason but generations changed a lot of things a selection of levels across the series mixed beautifully between the 2D and 3D levels with a great vibe, great level design and rival battles, soundtracks that hits hard. My only negativity was the final boss is pretty disappointing and some other technical issues. man I wish I played this when I was younger *sigh*

Lovely game. I'm annoyed this was my first experience with modern sonic games.
