Sonic CD (also known as Sonic CD 2011) is a remaster of the original game, adding many new features like widescreen support, improved controls, access to both American and Japanese soundtracks and Tails as an unlockable playable character.
The original game was, in my opinion, even better than Sonic 2 (in particular because it was more forgiving) and maybe one of the first Sonic games I truthfully enjoyed, despite the Special Stages still being a real pain. Loved the animations for the opening and ending, and also liked the game music.
One shame was the time limit set at 10 minutes - levels are so big and full of things that it's just a shame to force the player to speedrun them.
