need more games like this. Even though it may have been better, the addition of combat makes this game more complete and different from the repetitive gameplay of its predecessors

Shit for a game that came out in 2021 for modern consoles and pc none the less and from reputable developers. I expected much better product.

Took me about 34 hours to beat, including all the dlc and side cases.
I had some really low expectations for this game. The previous entry in this series, The Devil's Daughter, was riddled with bad framerate, graphics which weren't very pleasing to the eye, Awkward dialogue, and some really unnecessary and boring mini games. I just couldn't get through it.
I'll probably go back to it at some point now. Turns out, this game was practically a dream come true for me. Chapter One is an open world detective puzzle game, where you investigate crime scenes, talk to suspects, put on various disguises, gather evidence, and then put all the clues together on your own to figure out the whodunnit. That overall gameplay loop just worked for me perfectly in the open world setting.
It never felt like the game held my hand when it came to solving cases. While the way you collected clues was pretty linear, the game always let me figure out where to put a waypoint on the map depending on a clue I was given, or figure out the order of events in a murder, and even who to accuse, etc. I will admit though that I had to look up a wiki to figure out what to do next at least 4-5 times total.
The game looks beautiful as well, and I loved the music. I really admired the game's use of waypoints compared to other open world games. Often throughout the adventure you'll be reading up on evidence you've collected that'll offer you an address that you can find on the map, where you can place your own waypoint. It's a small mechanic, but one I really enjoyed, and made me appreciate how well thought out and interconnected the open world in this game really was.
As for the story, I thought it was alright. There are some things that feel a little odd (like why the hell is Sherlock dressed like an e-boy) but overall I thought it was a nice take on what the famous detective could've been like in his younger days (although I'm not really a Sherlock expert, I haven't read all of the stories). The game has four endings, and I felt that the one I got was pretty satisfying.
Fortunately there weren't any bad mini games to bog down the pacing in this one, and the game ran pretty well too. The game was usually running at 60fps, but there would be a noticeable lag in more grassy or crowded areas but not bad enough to hamper the experience. I also experienced very few glitches.
There's a lot of reading in this game but if you enjoy mystery and putting clues together I think this is a good one to try out. The game's definitely not for everyone, but it was 100% for me

Emotional story but the combat system is a pain in the arse (although you can skip it if you want to). Took me about 25 hours to complete it with all available side quests

Шикарна гра. Приємно вразила. Чудова атмосфера. Цікавий сюжет. Лиш оптимізація не дуже.
