26 Feb 2015 - PlayStation Vita
An application released for PS Vita with some minigames and a reconstruction of Yakuza 0's arena. Some Arcade games were released as DLCs, such as Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz.
The game tells you about the events at the beginning of Yakuza 0, then it cuts to the 'Bed of Styx', and underground coliseum in Sotenbori (based on real Life Dotonbori) where Kiryu and Majima can fight for glory.

Playing some cards games on Vita was great, and there are also some paid DLCs which allows you to play short version of other real games such as Monkey Ball.
The problem with releasing it BEFORE Yakuza 0 was that, being unable to share datas between the game and this application, you had to play the Arena mode with Kiryu and Majima without any upgrade.
You can make money and spend them on upgrades, but they are limited and just for one style for each character, so actually playing the tournaments is hell, as the enemies are thought and your characters very, very weak.
Interesting is that the gameplay wasn't directly ported from the console version but remade from scratch just for this app!
It looks and plays great (despite the crowd being made of board figures...), but you can see just how much this single app pushes the console to its limits, as there are some FPS drops during Heath Actions and the app itself takes a lot of time to load.
