Pokémon Omega Ruby

Pokémon Omega Ruby (and Alpha Sapphire) is my favourite Pokémon game of all time and one of my favourite games of all time.

The battle gameplay is like all Pokémon games but the gimmick of mega evolution makes it more interesting. Mega evolution is the best gimmick in Pokémon games and I think it was handled the best in this game as your starter can mega evolve unlike all other games where megas appear.

The Hoenn region has a great layout and the best Pokémon to date. Some of my personal favourite Hoenn Pokémon include Glalie, Latios, Swellow, Agron, Cammerupt, Groudon, Rayquaza, Linoone, Dustox and my favourite Pokémon of all time Sceptile. This game is the only Pokémon game where I got my whole team to level 100 which shows the amount of fun I could get out of this game.

The story is an average Pokémon story so nothing special but not horrible. The postgame is when the story truly shines. The delta episode of this game is the main postgame story and it’s very fun to play through and also expands a lot on the lore about mega evolution. The only problem with the post game is the lack of the battle frontier from emerald that many fans were expecting but that doesn’t take away from the fact that the delta episode was phenomenal.

Although the game is still fun now, the main reason I love it is because of the memories and nostalgia of battling my friends on this game during my youth.

Pokemon Omega Ruby is a fantastic Pokémon game and a fantastic game in general that expands on the Pokémon lore and is overall a fun experience to play through with the incredible Pokémon of the Hoenn region.

Basically a better ruby game and has mega evolutions so I’m in
