Summary

Meet Pikmin, small, plantlike creatures you can grow, pluck, command, and overpower your enemies with! These curious helpers come in different types—fire is no sweat for Red Pikmin and the brand-new Ice Pikmin can freeze enemies and the environment. Use your Pikmin’s miniature might (and a bit of strategy) to explore this mysterious planet. You get a dog, too! Oatchi, resident good boy and dependable partner, can help with things like smashing obstacles and carrying Pikmin throughout your adventure. With the miniscule Pikmin and a capable canine in tow, no challenge is too big!

Nintendo is killing it this year with solid goty entries!!

Pikmin 4 follows the long series of creativity Nintendo puts into their titles..

And not only did it add up to the classic franchise of Pikmin games, but also refreshes the "RTS" genre and carries it to new standards.

This is peak Pikmin. This is everything good from Pikmin 1, 2 and 3 with a whole entire new meal to enjoy. Pikmin 4 is genuinely one of Nintendo's best games they've put out, and the effort put in for Pikmin 4 rivals that of Mario Odyssey or Zelda BOTW/TOTK.

I HAD AN AMAZING TIME WITH THIS GAME!

This is my first time playing a pikmin game and I fell Iove with this one.

Visually, it’s a beautiful game with a fun and simple gameplay loop. Environmental puzzles and treasure feel quite relaxing and not stressful.

Oatchi was my favourite character in the game and a nice addition to make the game feel more alive.

The game was quite easy and an enjoyable experience. The game definitely ramps in difficulty over time but the really challenging area would be Cavern for a king (boss rush cave) which has the final boss. It was a really exciting and fun experience boss rush experience.

Overall, a very enjoyable game and I highly recommend this for switch owners. It’s just a great strategy game which feels quite relaxing and refreshing to play mostly. People who love open world exploration would find this game a joy to play. Exploration is what makes the game what it is.

It has the mantra of wasting your time and dipicting insignificant details, like most Pikmin keeping their nation's king worryfree. The dog is simply better than them. Unfortunately for Oatchi, most of your time is spent down the drain. The bosses that you encounter in those ugly decrepit areas are nice, but they only have a few variations and are just a memory once hitting them hard. All in all, it's not nearly as exciting or climactic as picking up the original Wii U game for the first time and it has been a trend over this generation. INSIDER KNOWLEDGE; Those little Pikmin will get tall AF in the next game, legs for days.

This game lets you control a group of colorful creatures called Pikmin, who help you explore and collect items on a mysterious planet. The game is a mix of strategy, puzzle, and adventure, with a charming and whimsical style. The game is easy to pick up and play, but also offers a lot of depth and challenge for those who want to master it.

The game's main mode is Story Mode, where you follow the story of a customizable astronaut who crash-lands on the planet and meets the Pikmin. You have to use the Pikmin's abilities to overcome obstacles, fight enemies, and find parts to repair your ship. The game has nine types of Pikmin, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, such as fire resistance, electricity conduction, or flying.

You have to switch between them and use them wisely to solve the puzzles and battles. The game also has a day and night cycle, which adds another layer of strategy and difficulty. You have to manage your time and resources, and make sure to return to your ship before nightfall, or risk losing your Pikmin to the nocturnal predators.

The game's graphics are beautiful and detailed, with a vibrant and varied world that is full of surprises and secrets. The game's sound design is also excellent, with a catchy and fitting soundtrack, realistic sound effects, and expressive voice acting. The game's story is simple but engaging, with a lot of humor and emotion. The game's characters are likable and memorable, especially the Pikmin, who have their own personalities and quirks.

The game also has other modes, such as Mission Mode, where you have to complete specific objectives within a time limit, and Bingo Battle, where you can compete with another player in a split-screen mode. The game's multiplayer options are limited, but still fun and competitive. The game also has a lot of replay value, with collectibles, achievements, and hidden content to discover.

It is fun and accessible for anyone, but also rewarding and challenging for fans of the genre. It is a game that will make you smile, think, and feel. It is a game that you should definitely try.

At far glance, I thought it was just a colorful kid’s game, but it surprised me.

The unfortunate part is, there won’t be any more sequels 🥹.
