Summary

The unbridled force of nature runs wild and relentless, with environments transforming drastically from one moment to the next. This is a story of monsters and humans and their struggles to live in harmony in a world of duality.

This is my second ever monster hunter game. I only played the first one of the ps2. And man is this a huge glo up compared to that one. Youre familiar with the concept of chasing after exotic monsters and the game itself is designed so beautifully. There is so much story, so much lore, excellent voice acting, beautiful Cut scenes. Customizable options for your character.

If you think about it this game feels a lot like Pokemon, monsters come in all different shapes and sizes, unique names, you yourself are tasked with beating them or catching them. Gotta hunt them all 😜 the main attraction this game has provided to me at least is the anticipation of the actual hunt that you will be tasked to take upon. It sets you up to plan ahead, of how to beat these monsters. What weapons you're gonna use, what armour, do you have the right things in your inventory etc... this game delivers a good starter course, main course and dessert sort of menu. You get smaller monsters and eventually when the difficulty spikes up you encounter bigger monsters. Some of the monsters are also able to counter you and feed on your weaknesses so planning ahead has to be vital. You have a lot of different weapons if memory serves right around 14 with different variations which will allow you to do a trial and error of which weapon will benefit you more in your main quests or side quests. You can even use more than one weapon.

The beauty of the combat in a Monster Hunter game is a strange, almost double-edged sword. On one hand, it’s great when it works and the weapon you like clicks for you. On the other, it can be punshining, a little clunky at times and more often you’ll start a combo and hit nothing but thin air because your target’s moved. And you'd look wack. There is also great attention to detail as you can wound a creature and the wound will be visible so you can basically aim there to take it down quicker. The weather can be unpredictable too, it can go from sunny to rainy very randomly.

(The anti woke agenda guys gonna have a field day of boycotting if they find out armour is not gender specific🫦Nobody tell them. Shhhh) you can go to quests with friends or even NPCs if you don't like people. Some dialogue can sound a bit goofy but Monster hunter is known for those anyways.

If you’re a Monster Hunter fan, you don’t need me to tell you how good this will be for you. If you’re not, play Dragon Age The Veilguard then🙄 Hopefully after this i won't get to play any more rpgs in a while. It's become draining at this point. It's just a lot of dedication when it comes to time. Luckily this didn't take me as long as most rpgs have in my life. But there does need to be a limit

YAY! I FINALLY LIKE MONSTER HUNTER!

I've tried so many times to join this massive community of fans who think this series is better than having sex while on crack but I just didn't get it.
I tried Monster Hunter World through Game Pass but quickly got overwhelmed and bored, the demo for Monster Hunter Rise didn't do anything for me, and I vaguely remember playing a Monster Hunter on PSP way back when which I found incredibly frustrating and confusing - but Monster Hunter Wilds has made me understand…
Well, I understand how to mash slice with a greatsword at least 😅 (I planned to try the other weapons, I swear, but I couldn't bring myself to stop swinging that thing). The moment I landed a focus strike on a monster's wound that hacked off their tail, I knew this game would replace my sleep. I finally get it.

Oh my God, I get it.

Took my time with this one. I really enjoyed it.

This game does not have as much content as it's predecessors, but that also does not mean it has bad content.

I went for clearing all the monsters, optional quests, side missions and the new main story mission. It still took me less time than just clearing the main content from Monster Hunter Rise.

I used the heavy bowgun most of the time, but end game went for the hammer and enjoyed it more. The impacts the monsters take are so satisfying.

Playing the game either solo or multiplayer is good, for once the AI support system is actually not that bad. Multiplayer can some times be a hit or miss, but most of the time people were very helpful.

Thankfully grinding for armor is not too bad, as it didn't take me many runs to acquire a full set of rarity 8 armor and weapon. But the main issue with the grind is definitely getting armor spheres for maximum upgrades. It is very mundane. Minmax.

The combat is very satisfying, they found a good mix of MH World and Rise. The open areas are nice to explore, always liked exploring for new camps , coins, finding new material spots.

Story wise, it was okay, I don't think it's the main highlight of the game, cliche, but it's there.

There was recently a new collab with Street Fighter 6 adding Akuma as playable character in a permanent side mission. That is very fun and unique.

In conclusion, I think this Monster Hunter is a very welcoming hunt for new players and has it's way to ease them in. As for veterans, they can continue on past the High Rank and possibly get what they want from there. G rank is probably what all veterans are currently waiting for, I look forward to seeing more updates from the game.

Will definitely keep coming back to it for next DLCs, updates, and expansions.
