Summary

Metal Slug is a 1996 run and gun arcade video game originally developed by Nazca Corporation and released by SNK for the Neo Geo MVS. It is the first installment in the eponymous series. Set in 2028, players assume the role of Peregrine Falcon Strike Force soldiers Marco Rossi and Tarma Roving on a fight against the Rebel Army led by Donald Morden and overthrow his coup d'état to prevent a New World Order.

This game is a classic, and one of my favorite arcades to play at our local pizza parlor growing up. What can I say? It’s your classic, run n gun shoot em up kind of game where you blast your way to victory!

Best game I have beaten my step bro used to have a neo Geo and I just wanted some nostalgia so yeah great and i do get why people don't like it because of the graphics

Metal Slug is a classic sides scrolling shooter from SNK's Neo Geo. The game features some of my favourite pixel art of the era, and some great, arcade style side scrolling. Metal Slug is difficult to master, but a ton of fun to play through. Bosses in this game come in the form of giant war machines, and the enemies are thrown at you in great number. Getting power ups, timing jumps, and using your grenades and weapons is key to survival. This game is one of the greats of its era, and not to be missed. Solid 9/10 - a masterpiece of the arcade.
