Grand Theft Auto is the first game in the Grand Theft Auto series and a sandbox-crime game published by Rockstar Games. The original Grand Theft Auto is made up of a series of levels each set in one of the three cities in the game. In each level, the player has a target number of points to achieve, and five lives to attain the score. The score counter doubles as a money meter; the player can spend this money on paint jobs and various other things. However, any money spent is of course taken away from the score, making the goal that little bit further away. On obtaining the target number of points, the player must then drive to a certain location to complete the level, which allows progress to the next one.
As an aspiring young thug, your mission in this video game is to perform odd jobs for the mob, picking up points along the way by committing random crimes ranging from auto theft to hit-and-runs to murder.

I bought my own copy when I was about??? 7 years old? well my parents bought it for me. My parents were clueless about age ratings so they were like hey...cars on the cover. shouldn't be an issue....boy were they wrong.🥴 Right from the jump this game had a huge target on its back because Back then Parents viewed games as child friendly and the slight pixelated shades of red (representing blood) would throw them off the hinges.
Like I can imagine the terror they felt if their kid was playing as a criminal running pedestrians over. shooting people, blood splattering everywhere Like I would have love to have been there. Or if they saw the mini game called Kill frenzy where you kill innocent people for shits and giggles and blow up as many cars as you can. This game is nothing like the GTA games we know today it is nothing but a little violent arcade game. It is a simple crime spree concept with mid graphics. You just need to complete simple tasks given by your clients to proceed to other levels.
It has all 3 main iconic cities. New York, Miami, LA. Although levels may be designed the same, visually speaking there are some differences which can give a variation of locations. The gameplay can be fun if you want to waste time. There is an expansion of this game set in England but I don't care enough about the base game to get the expansion I don't wanna hear no British accents no more. I'm tired of hearing my own everyday 🥴. overall the game is fun just go with minimal expectations or no expectations at all. it is a game that doesn't need you to use your brain. So just have fun with it.
