Final Fantasy VIII Remastered

Cool settings, not as iconic as FF7 tho.

My favourite FF game. Graphics aren't the greatest but the story is interesting if not a little wacky after the end of disk 1.

Awesome game. Still as amazing as the PS1 release. I still remember how smitten I was back then with the graphics and the art style. It was really great to replay this game.

This game is weird. I love and hate it at the same time. Story I found interesting until disc 3 where I started checking out with the time travel elements. I actually really like Squall's charcter though. When you realize he's the result of abandonment trauma, his character as far as how he acts reflects reality. He just doesn't want to get hurt again. He doesn't want to depend on others or have people depend on him. Themes of responsibility are present with him as well and are quite compelling.

Junction system is cool and allows you to mold characters how you want (almost like a job system) although drawing can be monotonous and it ultimately results in characters feeling the same. Not sure if I'm a fan of the concept of having magic as consumables rather than mp. Game kind of made you feel bad for using offensive magic. Very unique combat though very breakable
