Summary

Final Fantasy VIII is the eighth main installment in the Final Fantasy series. The gameplay makes a departure from many series standards. While it still uses the Active Time Battle system, it deviates from the series' traditional means of boosting a character's power via leveling, although levels are not completely abandoned as they were in Final Fantasy II. In addition, it does not have a Magic Point-based system for spell-casting. Instead, magic is collected, drawn, and created from items, and is used to power up the characters via the junction system.

This one's personal. While this games extremely flawed. With mechaniques that fan be exploited from the very start of the game, a conveluted story that gets worse the more time you spend thinking about it, and party members that range from boring to annoying. This should be one of the worst final fantasy's..... Right? No it's the best one... Like easily the best if anything all the bad only make squalls journey as a guy just caught in the middle of it all more comparing to me. This is the first and one the few games to actulley make me cry so for that I treasure it. Also triple triad is like the best mini game ever

Really fustrating,it had a lot of potential,I liked the characters and intial setup,(disc 1 is great)but the story is just a forgettable jumble of the worst JRPG tropes and then some (collective amnesia???)

The draw system for magic while fun to break is incredibly tedious and the gameplay just wasn't for me.

Still squall is the best ff protagonist.

Final Fantasy: The Emo Phase. Hated the draw magic system, loved the Triple Triad card game.
