The amount of party customization is just awesome. The story is alright, but the battles are the most fun they have ever been with all the different jobs you can mix and match.

Might be too early to tell but this game feels different. More solid? Each game there are crystals but I think that’s gone in later games? I wonder if this is the last one with that type of plot?

I’m definitely enjoying this the best of the first 5 games. I just need a break so I took it lol. Hope I’ll be able to pick it back up soon.

Here it is the actual best snes final fantasy. Still not anythings to outstanding, and while there are much better rpgs out there. This game is just a good time. The story's fun and doesn't take itself to seriously, the job system is grindy yet satisfying as your party's learns new powerful abblites, and man the music is pretty dang good. Good job final fantasy 5 you learnt a decent score

This is my first "classic" FF and I have to say, I'm very impressed by how well it holds up. While the story is pretty bare, the writing itself is pretty sharp--especially for the characters. The protagonists are all distinctly charming and even some of the villains are endearing. The game isn't afraid to be silly or stupid at times and seamlessly weaves these moments in with the serious and somber story beats. Along with the writing, the gameplay was also pretty sharp. As a very early iteration of the "job" system, a lot of the mechanics worked really well. I particularly enjoy being able to experiment and build my characters to my specific liking and this really scratched that itch. Admittedly, some of the mechanics are a bit obtuse and not explained well, with exploration also lacking clear direction. Overall, though, I had a fun time and am inspired to try other classic FF titles.
