Solid metroidvania with cool greasepunk aesthetics. Having Chinese voice actors adds up to the immersion. Graphics are good and gameplay is intuitive and responsive. There's also platforming and the surprisingly large map is filled with secrets, collectibles and easter eggs. Quite challenging too, but not overly hard/unfair. For an indie game very impressive.

Sometimes the areas feel empty, there could be a few more enemies/puzzles here and there. Checkpoint placement and brutal difficulty spikes can be very frustrating. Backtracking gets tedious. Underwater attack controls feel clunky. Short cutscenes are unskippable. Recycled enemies and bosses. Despite these shortcomings I'd recommend F.I.S.T. for metroidvania fans.

A UNIQUE FIST

Forged in shadow torch is an action adventure game that everyone need to play Asap.It is the first metroidvania developed by Chinese studio TiGAMES.
Its the entry level into this genre for those who never played but also those who are hardcore fans.
You would not get lost in exploring and know exactly what you're supposed to do.
I like unique games,and this one is fresh as bread.
A Dieselpunk retrofuturistic city where population is filled with furry animals called Furtizens.
I mean,Really.
Characters are memorable,i appreciate the work of animation they put into each and every character.
You play as Rayton,an anthropomorphic rabbit who uses a mechanical fist and drinks carrot juice from his whiskey flask.
This is a modern metroidvania with insane animated cutscenes and spectacular voice casting.(eng) will take you on a whole new trip.The world looks like future neon fictional china with the amount of details they put into building is Masterwork,shows how much they had the love and passion for this project.
Visuals are absolutely flawless,Art direction is groundbreaking in each area.
This are all great but one thing I m sucker for is THE COMBAT and my god what a treat.
You get three weapons as you progress,the fist,drill and whip with combo fighting system for each one.
The Dashing ability is the main star here making it fast paced with addictive interaction with those weapons.
Mastering those combos is extremely satisfying with Prosthetics like Shock baton (parry) and homing missile(rocket) in difficult situations since enemies are robots so it's really hard even in normal mode.
They are not just weapons but also abilities like smashing doors with fist,drilling under the water,and grappling with the whip.
There are collectibles and secrets you need to find for activating combos skills and customizing your machine.
Map design is good,Puzzle Platforming sections are not easy.
Backtracking will always be a primary rule of any metroidvania,this game has good tho.
Not able to skip cutscene during boss fight multiple times is frustrating especially the last Boss,he's evil.
Story is pretty generic,just like old movies,some will like it,some won't.
It was unique,it was weird and I absolutely had a fun time with those combat and detailed world.
I just wished they could have added more depth into characters and lore by adding a DLC.

If you are a fan of metroidvania genre then this is a must play. First of all this game looks fantastic in its character design but it also shines it’s core gameplay with a decent story.

Overall fun game, graphics and gameplay are good, story was average.

Combat isn't very satisfying and feels sluggish. Gets a bit boring after a few hours.
