Doom 64

It's classic doom that I love
The atmosphere of it reminds me of the first quake game. The music is so creepy at times that I just love
It's very puzzle heavy this time and there are some that were just frustrating but man were their great levels here.
I like this better than doom 3

Takes a very different tonal shift from the original games - dark, brooding and quite depressing. In DOOM and DOOM 2 you're an unstoppable force, hunting the demons of hell. They're locked in hell with you. Whereas with this game, you're locked in hell with them. The atmosphere from the visuals and soundtrack makes you feel isolated and claustrophobic. Gameplay wise it is quite similar to the originals but with some new enemy sprites [which I am quite mixed on, but the original designs are so iconic]. The maps are quite well designed with some more intricate labyrinths to explore, with some maps actually changing whilst you're progressing through them. There is a much smaller enemy count and a lot of the enemies from DOOM 2 have unfortunately been omitted such as the Archvile and Chaingunner so it can get a bit samey with the lack of variety. Overall, a recommended play if you're a fan of the series. It feels like a sequel to the Playstation 1 port of DOOM, as it uses the same soundtrack and sound effects.

Like Doom 2, Doom 64 feels very similar to the original. I did see it as a slight downgrade given the lack of local multiplayer, inconsistent weapon swapping and lack of reload animation for the shotgun. Doom 64 doesn't really innovate, but I suppose this makes sense, given it serving as more of an expansion to Doom 2.

wonderful puzzle/beat em up game, however it gets really hard and confusing even on the 7th level (there’s 28 levels), on the easiest mode. not by any means an easy game, but it’s really fun and intuitive for its time.

Me gustó más que Doom 2. El diseño de niveles es menos confuso y no abusa tanto de poner exceso de enemigos para fomentar la acción.

Aún tiene fallos importantes como los "puzzles" que muchos consisten en disparar o pulsar el botón de acción en lugares al azar. Y en esta ocasión la música es muy lenta por lo que se pierde con lo frenéticos que suelen ser los niveles.

En cualquier caso, Nightdive hizo un excelente versión de Doom 64 pues conserva la escenacia del original mientras que añade extras y mejoras para que sean jugables en la actualidad.
