Summary

Explore a world filled with the magic of Disney as you discover rich stories and build the perfect neighbourhood alongside Disney and Pixar Heroes and Villains in this new life-sim adventure game. Welcome to Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Played on: Playstation 5
Version: Playstation 5
Edition: Digital (Ultimate Founder's Edition)

I have played this off & on since launch but I must say, there has been very little improvement. There is a lot of times where there are MASSIVE frame drops which is completely unacceptable for a glorified mobile title.

I love Disney & these characters that make it so special so naturally I am a little biased going in each time. Ultimately, this game is a fetch quest grind from a nightmare. After a while it beats your brain into a VERY numb state. I will always check back for updates here & there but man, they have GOT to find a new angle on this one. Tons of work that leads to little reward.

Final verdict: Don't touch it

I absolutely love this game. They could definitely improve the problem that it takes so much time to collect dream light (but if you love games that will take you more than a year to finish then this a game for you) and you also have to play pretty much everyday or else you might miss something. But I love coming back to this game every now and then but just not everyday. I’ve been playing this game for over a year now and I only have made 13% progress and I play it pretty often. Also as a Disney fan it’s so cool to interact with Disney characters in a way.

Thought it would be childish but it was actually an ok mindless game for people of all ages. Think Disney version of Animal Crossing. This game did not keep my attention and the trophies were almost literally impossible.

Some missions are really fun and being rewarded by having characters join your town is pretty cool, but very often missions just become "get 40 wood sticks" or find this to give to this specific person. Like Hermione says, I'm not an owl. I have going back and forward between characters just passing notes and gifts around. Also there's way too much dialogue and I skip a lot of it because y'all I have way too many missions going at the same time and don't have time for your ramblings, I got 40 wood sticks to pick up.

It's not bad as you get the special currency from literally everything. But it gets really repetitive and I hate the system that one in-game day is one real day. So if you're an adult and have time to play only after work and once evetying irl is done then you're probably like me and get to play this game at night and guess what? Even the game is set at night then...it's just so annoying. I'm really not the type of person who likes going to the same game every day (unless it's on phone 😅)

I think it’s more fun on the pc as the controls on switch are just not it. Also the npcs are just so boring. Leveling up friendship level has no impact on their behaviour, they all act the same and do the same all the time.
